I have had the previous version of this bench for ten years and it has seen daily use. I have recently run over it and it cracked a bit so I bought this one. The plastic is more pliable on the new one. It lacks the shelf as the cross bar supporting the "A" and has instead two hinges. I like the shelf, but it will not stop me from buying another. This is a very handy tool. Buy two. I only bought one to see if it was as good as my old one. I am about to buy another. Great price for a useful tool.

I found this work bench at Ace last year and had not seen anything like it. I have seached for and owned many a portable work bench. What this offers that none of the others I own or have owned is the clamping system along with the ability to fold it away very compactly and with no assembly required.
Every other one I have had was hard to assembly, cheaply made and didn't work smoothly for clamping and wasn't too compact.
The only down side to this one is that it is somewhat flimsy for the professional but adequate for a DIYer like me.
But that makes it light too so I guess you can't have everything. The plus side is that you get a lot in a simple package that is easy to use and store. The legs are strong enought that it will support most small projects and tools but be careful to not let the legs fold by making sure the hinges are fully extended.
Also, its lightweight means that you should not push it past or near its weight limit and it will move around if you are sawing big pieces of wood, for example.
So overall I recommend it for someone who needs a clamping work table for small projects or as a base for a table top as a work surface for, say, staining, cutting or drilling wood.
The clamping system is uniique and very functional for simple right angle cutting and everything stores away inside the table top.
I gave this three stars but 3.5 would be more accurate.

Comments about Stanley Folding Workbench (STST11026):

This workbench is a far cry from the old Stanley workbench. The width is 3 1/2 inches shorter then the old one, it's not as sturdy, and it's missing features mentioned in other comments. I bought two thinking they were as good as the old one and was disappointed. I did not take them back because I can find a use for them but Stanley definitely ruined a good product to save some money!

Comments about Stanley Folding Workbench (STST11026):

Used as extension for B&D workmate, carries a light load, but height is right for my application. The braces popped out of their holes several times, and may cause an unexpected fold up. The braces need to be more firmly attached to the legs.

I bought this for a friend that liked the one I had. When I got it it's not the same. It's seems a bit flimsy and it does not have the same features. The older one has a shelf at the bottom where the legs fold out about 12 inches up which is very convenient if you are using it as a sawhorse. It also had an indentation on the top to hold hardware. It's still ok but I think they should have just left it as it was. The features they removed were very useful and it's too bad they cut them out to save a little $$

Comments about Stanley Folding Workbench (STST11026):

I already had one of these workbenches and have looked long and hard for another. It collapses down to about 5 inches thick so it doesn't take up a lot of space when not in use, but when it unfolds it is sturdy and works great for gardening, painting small items, working on projects, even extra space for food when scrubbed and a tablecloth thrown over it. I bought two more for gifst because they haven't been available for so long.

Comments about Stanley Folding Workbench (STST11026):

This product is decent for small projects. The height is just right and it's easy to setup and fold away when you're not using it. You can use it with another saw horse to support large pieces or create a longer worktable.

So far, the only limitation I found is clamping stock for hand planing. In such cases, you want the clamp jaws to sit below the edge of the face your planing. Doing so causes the clamps to rack and not grip firmly. This can be alleviated by shimming the underside of the stock using another stock of the same size.

In terms of construction, this work table is surprisingly strong and stable compared to its metal counterparts, which I found to be flimsy. The cross bracing makes it stable as you hammer and plane. The others I've tried tend to rock and wobble.
