The product is fine but parts were missing from the kit to constuct it. There were 2 bolts and screws missing--it teaches me a lesson about on-line purchasing--had to make 2 trips to the hardware store for the parts so I should have purchased the product in the store in the first place.

Handy as a work bench for large items, usefull as a large vise for holding items to be sanded, painted etc. Very versatile and every guy should have at least one of these in their garage.
Great for securing bicycle for tune-ups and such.

This folding bench appears to be the same as Craftman's original, but it came with a warped top, probably evidence of it oriental manufacture. I had to order a second unit to finally get a bench top that is acceptable. Through entire this process, Ace hardware was very helpful.

You don't need any special tools to start working on it. You take out from the boxx all what you need to start using it in 5 minutes.

The Workmate X-Mate is light duty as advertised. It is certainly not as substantial as their regular Workmates, but it comes in handy when a project needs to be held firmly in place particularly when cutting or sawing. The cost of the X-Mate (with rebate) was less than the average plastic saw horse.

I bought this maybe 15-20 years ago on impulse. It is perfect for my small home repair jobs. I like it most for holding small lumber when I need to saw or sand. It spends most of its time outside on my patio in all weather (Southern California). Its joints at the X are a bit tight from being outside for all those years, but it has not yet rusted. It is not for the person who needs a heavy duty bench, but for the price and convenience, it can't be beat for the small jobs.
