This works great as a pole mounted baffle. The squrrels run up the pole, stop and look and then run back down the pole. (I guess they are BAFFLED!) I have my pole feeder mounted 12 ft away from any other trees and that seems to keep them from attacking from the topside. It works great and was easy to install with a single phillips screwdriver.

This baffle is ineffective because the outside surface is ridged and the inside surface is smooth. The squirrels get traction on the ridged surface with their claws so they are able to swing down and eat from the bird feeder. If the outside surface was smooth, then the squirrels would slide off. I am disappointed with the design.

I bought this baffle today. Squirrel saw the baffle and stared. He climbed up the pole and spent several minutes trying to figure out how to get around the baffle. He gave up. But he came back to try again. He gave up. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
