I have used this Eureka Optima for many years and my current one has broken wheels. Bought a new one (tried 3 different ones) and the smell is so bad it fills my house. It smells like cheap burning rubber and plastic. After calling Eureka, they know of the problem and are doing nothing to fix it. They say they are using different plastics from China and have received this complaint from many other customers. I want an old Optima that doesn't smell! The Optima is an awesome vacuum, when it doesn't fill my house with rubber fumes.

light enought to do business/carpeted stairs GREAT
quick touch ups in the home daily
areas that have furniture close together, This gets in between without always moving items.
I have had mine for over a yeat now and have never replaced the filter yet, just wash it out after every use/let dry and replace. Still have the extra filter just in case.
