We used to wast money at the cottage on bird feed that was stolen by squirrels, with this feeder no longer an issue. I like the smaller birds, chickadees, nut hatches, wrens, and finches and after last year when they got used to it no problem. This spring they already knew how to use it only down fall is the baffle covers them so you can not get a good look at them when they are feeding!

This feeder mangles birds, I had to untangle a bird's bloody little foot from the base, luckily i got to him before he tore his own leg off. god it was awful. Even if it didn't mangle birds the thing sucked mechanically, the ports would not reopen after closing for a squirrel, so it was rendered useless. Do yourself and the birds a favor and DON'T buy this thing.

It took a few months for the birds to get used to it, but when the cold weather hit the smaller birds started using it no problem. The larger more aggressive birds can't use it and all of our 5 squirrels gave up on it.

this is no doubt one of the best SQUIRREL PROOF feeders you can buy at any price Holds a fair amount of seed and I have not had any trouble with the feed getting wet
