Comments about G.E. GE Spiral Dimmable CFL Bulb (89623):
If you use electronic or digital dimmers, don't waste your time with this bulb. It won't work. Either it will go on at 5 or 10% brightness, then just stay there (regardless of what the dimmer output is set at) or it will just flicker uncontrollably until you're forced to rip the eyes out from your head.
Amazing that these manufacturers make these things when clearly they don't work. Waste of time and energy buying/trying/returning. You'd figure the manufactures would have tested them before selling them.

Comments about G.E. GE Spiral Dimmable CFL Bulb (89623):
I tried these with GE electronic dimming system that runs from remote control. They don't work, just go on or off and then stopped working. I think an earlier review was right, they only work with a directly connected analog dimmer switch, not newer digital or remote control switches.

Comments about G.E. GE Spiral Dimmable CFL Bulb (89623):
Dimmable CFLs must use analog dimmer switches (sold after 1995). They will not work w/ digital dimmers & will go POP & never come back.
Definitely do some research before purchasing & make sure you are using them in the correct environment.

Comments about G.E. GE Spiral Dimmable CFL Bulb (89623):
These bulbs did not work in my application (ceiling fan with three bulbs, dimmable at wall switch). Regular light bulbs work fine, but this CFL did not work. It flickered, did not come back on when switched off, and it did not dim as described. [...]

Comments about G.E. GE Spiral Dimmable CFL Bulb (89623):
Screwed this dimmable bulb into a lamp that's plugged into the wall. We leave the lamp switched to the "on" position all the time, and then control the fixture from a wall switch. (The wall switch is where the dimmer is.)
With the set-up described above, the lights don't dim. Well, they do dim, a little, and then, at a certain point, they don't dim at all; they simply switch off.
I'm guessing these bulbs are made to be screwed into lighting fixtures which have their own dimming feature. Somehow, when the dimmer is at the wall switch, they don't work.
I'm returning the ones I haven't yet opened.
