Comments about G.E. GE Daylight CFL Bulb (89095):
This bulb is not for those who are used to the warm light of incandescent bulbs or even the pseudo-daylight of "Reveal" bulbs.
While the cooler light emitted by this bulb is a bit beyond daylight (typically considered about 5500K) it is still a much better match than what you'd get out of a "Reveal" bulb.
In my opinion people consider fluorescent light to be "harsh" only because the older bulbs were too long to fit under lamp shades. So, we're used to experiencing this kind of light only in industrial or retail settings where large areas are intensely/harshly lighted.
CFL bulbs will change that. Just put this bulb under a lamp shade and you'll see that the light quality is gorgeous. Morover, when you photoraph subjects under this light, the photos will not have the familiar yellow cast given off by incandescent bubs.

Comments about G.E. GE Daylight CFL Bulb (89095):
Does burn at 6500 degrees, an accurate approx. of daylight, which is cool/bluish compared to incandescent light.

Comments about G.E. GE Daylight CFL Bulb (89095):
The "daylight" color emitted from this bulb is a very un-natural, bluish-white. It's what I think of when I hear the phrase "harsh fluorescent lighting." I was expecting light quality similar to a "daylight" incandescent, such as the GE Reveal bulbs, but this "daylight" CFL made my kitchen look like a workshop or an operating room.
In my opinion, the "regular" GE CFL bulbs, which sell for the same price, provide much better light, so I recommend going with one of those.
