Good for plants that require daily watering or to irrigate an area that cannot be connected to your existing irrigation system. Should be removed and brought indoors during freezes. Most battery operated valve timers are not designed to withstand freezing.

The timer is basic, so exact watering duration times are horseshoes and hand grenades. The one thing that really bugs me is that there is no way to check if the programed time took. You have to wait 24 hours and see if it turns itself on. So, if you want to water at 0600, you must get up at 0600 one day, and get up again then next to check.
This is more of an fyi than a complaint.
Plus, it would be nice for Ace to start scanning the directions for online download.

We plant trees professionally for folks and always provide one of these simple and reliable water timers to assure that the trees we plant always survive. This timer is a great value because it is reliable, well made and most of all easy to use. The brass female hose connection on the top of the timer beats the plastic connector often found on other timers.

Bought one for the back yard last year. Worked fine with drip system. Bought one for the front yard this year. The running time is adjustable but the start time is what ever time of day it is activated.

Very easy set-up. Dependable. Operating from automatic mode to manual is simple. My local store was sold out when I went to purchase my 2nd timer so I took the time to order online. Competitors' timers didn't come close to simplicity of this unit.
