I have used these knives for many years and expect natural
failure over time. This new knife failed on the first usage.
The blades are too tight for the insertion socket and I think
that caused the drive mechanism to break. Glad I bought two;
the second one is working fine, although the blades still fit
very tight into the knife.
Now, what do I do with the broken one?

It says that it has a 9" blade. It even says it on the box. However it is only 7". Good for bread but not for ham or turkey.

My husband got me one of these for Christmas about 10 years ago, by accident. I am SO glad he bought the "wrong" one! I am now buying one for our daughter, who will be getting married in May. I have had NO problems at all with this knife.

I have owned this model electric knife for many years and now need a replacement. Family members have tried to give me 'nicer' knives, but I don't like them and they are not used. I'm now finally breaking down and replacing my knife because my blades are dull and they have begun to bend a little...but remember I've owned this knife for more than twenty years!

I had a knife like this for 30 years. When mine quit working I searched for another that was easy to hold. Bought a very expensive one with another blade. After removing it from the case and holding it in my hand I soon returned it. Got on line and found this Black & Decker knife. I bought it and my daughter used mine to cut bread into cubes and could not believe how fast and nice it cut the bread. I purchased this one for her. Am going to buy another one for our other daughter. I know if you buy it you will not be disappointed.
