I bought this tool for work to put holes in fabrics. Not only did it take over a week to ship this item to the store, when I finally received it, it didn't work properly. It failed to cut holes in any of the fabrics that I tried. I just tossed it. Don't waste your time.

We used it to put grommets in to Civil war flags that we were making.This is a Great product.Easy to use. Well worth the price.
My advice is;
A. The punch went through 2 layers of canvas Duck cloth, No problem.
B. Tap the punch on all sides to make sure that it cuts.
C. You can Oval the hole if you remove the punch before going through all the layers of fabric.This will cause the grommet not to be as tight as it could be.Just hit it again, to be sure that the fabric is cut on all sides.
D.The front of the Grommet is on the bottom so you must put the front side of the flag facing down. Not the way I would expect to treat a flag. Beware, that there is a front and back to the grommet and if you want to have that professional look, well...
E. When done the back of the Grommet sticks to the mandril, It's easy to pull apart if you follow directions and put the front of the grommet on the bottom

All of the above are things that I learned as doing are provided to help others. None of them reflect on the product. It is a great product. I am buying a second kit for the Boy Scout trailer.
