Comments about Quikrete® Powerloc® Jointing Sand (115047):
I made a walkway about 80 ft long and 4 ft wide using the quikrete walkmaker and about 70 bags of 80lb quikrete professional concrete. It came out amazing and saved us a ton of money, but it was a lot of hard work. Just finished it off with 6 bags of this jointing sand, and it came out incredible. What a great finishing touch.
After I brushed all the sand into all the spaces, I used a small dust brush to clean the excess off of every stone, one at a time. I used a little more water than they said just to make sure not to miss any spots. Be careful not to use too much however, you can get a bit of wash out if you do.
It says it works for joints up to 1/2 an inch wide, but I have some that are definitely a lot wider than that and it still worked great. It also says to make sure the temperature stays above 50 for at least 12 hours after it's applied, but about 7 hours after I had finished it, the temperature was down to 35 and still came out hard as a rock.
This product did exactly what I wanted it to and was much cheaper than some of the other brands. I highly recommend all of these quikrete products for anyone looking to do a similar job.

Comments about Quikrete® Powerloc® Jointing Sand (115047):
The product is great! But it's a pain to apply. I mean, it's very time consuming if you want to do it right. But I guess this kind of job is like that anyway. After you spread the sand all over your patio stones and have the sand inside the cracks, no matter what you'll still have sand on the top of the stones. It will be a very fine coat but it will still be there. And if you leave that coat there, it will stain your stone big time after you apply the water mist to activate the product. I used a leaf-blower on its lowest setting to remove the sand coat of my stones and it did the job quite nicely. But I guess I didn't remove really everything because my patio got a little lighter after the job was all done. I like the new look because it seems cleaner to me; so I'm all happy. However, please be aware that the sand that stays on top of your stones is extremely fine; almost like baby powder. So it's really hard to remove 100%. Maybe if I were more patient and used the blower several times on the same spots over and over, then maybe this way I'd have removed 100% of the powder of my stones. But I was not. :) Anyway, I'm 100% satisfied with the results and I recommend the product.

Comments about Quikrete® Powerloc® Jointing Sand (115047):
We purchased this product about two years ago to use in between the rocks in a natural river-rock walkway. The weeds do still occasionally grow in between the rocks, however for the most part it has weathered well, which is an accomplishment for a walkway in upstate NY. It is relatively easy to brush into the gaps/spaces. We found that a little more than the recommended wetting seems to really help with the hardening process. We recently extended the walkway and are purchasing more of this product to complete the job!

Comments about Quikrete® Powerloc® Jointing Sand (115047):
This material is very fine, almost like talc. I followed directions and found that coverage was about 75 sq ft per bag for 1/8" gaps between bricks. I swept the material as directed and then swept the patio 5 more times until I was getting red dust instead of sand because the product had changed the color of my brick to a grayish color. After sweeping as best I could I dampened according to the directions. The next day after everything dried my brick were now a grayish red color so apparently the polymer got in to the texture of the brick and discolored it. Fortunately the color change made the brick look better against the house color so it worked out in my favor. The other concern I have is that the bags contained a significant amount of 1/2" gravel, each bag differed but in ten bags I bet I had a half bag's worth of gravel. I spent a lot of time picking out the gravel and that was a pain. Seems like a quality issue at the plant.
