I had a bad seam in my countertop and did not want to replace it for one bad seam so I got this to cover up the seam and I sit my coffemaker, cream and sugar on it and the stainless steel really looks good on my countertop. Also it keeps coffee spoons off of countertop.

Ace needs to add a link, i.e., heat shield, aluminum shield, propane stove trivett, etc. as it is DIFFICULT to locate this product! I have bought SEVERAL OF THESE as have my friends after seeing mine! These work PERFECT to protect our fiberglass and/or wood boats when cooking onboard with propane BBQ/grills/crab cookers, etc.! A REAL BOATING MUST HAVE! ;o) THANKS ACE! AND, off to the San Juans we goooooo!

Nice way to protect counters from the heat of pans.
Can cover a larger service that a trivet, and safer. No chance of pot/pan tilting, tipping. Silver design fits in with many kitchen decors.
Would be nice to have an option of a printed top verses just the silver wave.

I use this heat resistent pad under my new electric grill. ( a pad was advised by the manufacturer of the grill). It is the right size to fit under this grill. It looks good and is easy to clean. Every Grandma used to have one of these. Now they are very hard to find! I use this for a fire retardant surface for a MAPP gas torch for firing enamel. Enamel suppliers sell them for much more money. I was delighted to find one at my local Apache Junction, AZ Ace Hardware.

This counter mat is used in our camper to protect the wall by the stove. The stove is in a corner and gives off a lot of heat making the nearby wall "tacky". The mat is now against the wall reflecting the stove heat. We have given them as gifts to other campers with RVs set up the same way. I have recommended this solution to other RV owners. What a simple solution to a frustrating problem!
