The Performer is a charcoal kettle with propane assist lighting bar in the bottom mounted in a cart. It is designed to use the 1 pound propane bottles. I realized if you use the grill quite a bit (like I do), at [$] a bottle, it was going to get expensive. This is not a portable grill like a Q so why not have a connection for a 20 pound cylinder? The hose was the perfect length to route from the front, under the table and out to the cylinder sitting on the ground at the rear. I can take this hose camping and run my Coleman stove also.

I bought the babyQ and soon realized those mini, blue propane tanks where gonna cost a fortune. This hose connects easily to the refillable propane tank I own. Hours and hours of grilling. The hose has payed for itself given the costs of those small blue tanks that I only use for quick one meal trips to the lake for the day or a tailgate, beach, etc.
