Comments about AMERICAN TOOLS Hanson® 1/2in-13NC Plug Tap:
I am completely satisfied with this product. I used it to tap a couple of holes in 356 T6 aluminum and it worked beautifully. It started cutting cleanly and continued cleanly with virtually no effort. Before buying this tap, I'd tried to use a tap from a super-cheapo set I'd bought a few years ago and couldn't get it to even start threading. The difference between a quality tool like the Irwin and that "bargain" tap was like night and day. Lesson learned: If you want to be sure, don't be cheap.
