Comments about Homestead® Garden Arch Bird Feeder (3720):
Very popular feeder with finches, chickadees and the occasional cardinal and woodpecker. Unfortunately, it was also popular with squirrels, who yanked the bottom off while swinging like trapeze artists. The painted part is thin metal, likely an aluminum alloy, the cable is steel wrapped in a thin protective plastic layer and the bottom was black plastic held onto the bottom with a few plastic tabs. The clear sides are plastic and after about 18-24 months being outside year-round, it was starting to yellow a bit. Otherwise, it was a pretty good feeder. Tip for anyone else battling squirrels with any feeder: I've found that if I buy a cheap bottle of cayenne pepper, dump it into a 25-lb bag of bird feed and shake it up, the squirrels are more likely to stay away as they can't stand the capiscam. Mammals have a much lower tolerance for the stuff than birds and it almost seems like some birds like it (maybe because they know their meal is less likely to be interrupted by those bushy-tailed buggers). I'd definitely buy it again, maybe in the blue this time for a change of scenery.

Comments about Homestead® Garden Arch Bird Feeder (3720):
I love this feeder for its appearance, hanger, and removable top for easy loading. However, it came apart (bottom portion came off) as soon as a squirrel jumped on it. I am buying another one just like it today because I feel the benefits of the highlighted features outweigh the risk of another coming apart. I am hoping that this one feeder was poorly constructed.

I purchased 4 of these feeders as Christmas gifts for family living out of town. The size and color are perfect for a winter background and they seem very well constructed.
