Sprays fine in either position, however if you pump the handle with the bottle on it's side and it's low on fluid it can de-prime the pump and then it takes 5-10 quick pumps to get it going again. As long as you hold it right side up or upside down within 30-40 degrees of vertical it works fine. Never had problems screwing on cap, however if the cap is loose the pump can also de-prime. Pump handle and structure feel strong and durable, doesn't flex under heavy use. Basically once you get the hang of using it it's a miracle, but it's more complicated to use than a run of the mill spray bottle.

Make certain you screw the cap on tightly, which in itself is an issue. The cap only screws on tightly to a certain point, then "jumps" the threads. If you turn the head during use, you will loosen the cap. Next thing you know, you pick up the bottle by the handle, or if it's in you hand, the cap comes off and the bottle spills the contents everywhere. Each time I pick it up, I check to ensure the cap is as tight as possible. Some annoying to do so, but I'm stuck with -6- of these.

I thought the sprayer was neat that you hold it in any position and use up every drop. I was totally wrong. Yes, you can hold it in upside down position to spray. However, it does not spray if you hold it in normal/up-right position. It is totally waste of money.
