Comments about BLACK & DECKER HomeRight® Pro 5.5 Paint Sprayer (C800772):
I planned to paint the walls of a brick basement to brighten it up. This sprayer says it will use unthinned latex paint. Not quite true!
The sprayer sprays directly on the small cage surrounding the spray tip, and the paint then drips all over, making a big mess. There is also a lot of overspray, and adjusting the paint volume seems to make no significant difference.
The short, stiff dip hose is not much use at all. It is just not easy to raise a 5 gallon paint bucket high enough so the inflexible hose stays clipped to the bucket, and spray with your free hand while paint is dripping all over and running down your arm. When the hose clip comes loose, the stiff hose will come out of the bucket making even more mess.
Part of the cage around the fan spray nozzle fell off after a few minutes, and made another mess. It was not crimped in place as it should have been.
This product may be good if you use it to spray some type of thin liquid outside where overspray and mess does not matter, but for inside use you had best use something other than this sprayer.

Comments about BLACK & DECKER HomeRight® Pro 5.5 Paint Sprayer (C800772):
I have used rented air spray paint guns before and never had any problems. With this paint gun, no matter how much I thinned the paint--even to water consistancy--I never could get an even spray pattern and paint dripped from the tip as well. I took it apart several times, cleaned and oiled all parts, then tried again... and still could not get it to work properly. Maybe I can use it outside to paint the shed, but it is too messy and sloppy for indoor use. I reccomend renting one.

Comments about BLACK & DECKER HomeRight® Pro 5.5 Paint Sprayer (C800772):
it spitted and sprayed unevenly no matter what i tried. i bought this because of the attachment that allows you to spray overhead. i was using ace premium latex to paint the ceiling in my basement. i thinned the paint again and again, but could not get it to spray evenly. if i ran just water through the sprayer it misted fine, but when i tried to paint it just kept spitting paint and making a mess and the paint just dripped from the tip. i have used some awful sprayers of all types before, but this was one of the worst.

Comments about BLACK & DECKER HomeRight® Pro 5.5 Paint Sprayer (C800772):
I have never used one of these...In fact I hate to paint period! Looked at numerous brands before settling on this one for price and reputation of Black and Decker. We have a large 80 foot long retaining wall that is any where from 2 foot to 5 foot high in the middle. It would have easily taken 3 hours to get the kind of coverage this baby did in 1 hour. As long as you keep moving and not let the paint head dry you are will get great results. Nice even strokes and go over you coverage slowly and it should do you well. Clean up in a hot bucket was a snap.

Comments about BLACK & DECKER HomeRight® Pro 5.5 Paint Sprayer (C800772):
This product is manufactured by a company called Home Right and is only labeled Black and Decker. Home Right also makes a wonderful product called the Paint Stick which I have owned for years. There is no viscocity cup provided with this product, however, thinning as recommend with plain water 5-15%. I used about a cup (8 ozs) gives the best results when using Ace brand water based latex paints. These products produce overspray so be mindful of areas and things you do not wish painted with tiny dots. I sprayed a fence and a deck with the Pro 5.5 sprayer and had excellent results. I completed both project over two weekends! I cannot imagine how long they would have taken using another method. I sprayed the deck with semi-transparent and the color was very even. I've used a pump garden sprayer before and the color was uneven and needed to be brushed.
Clean up wasn't too bad, maybe 10-15 minutes.
