We moved into our house 4 years ago. This house was empty for at least 5 years before we moved in and the water heater was here when we moved in. We have not had any problems out of it, it heats the water fast and we always have hot water. When the power is out we do not worry about how long it will take to heat our water back up because it is usually hot in a few min.

Purchased and had this electric hot water heater installed today. After a couple of hours still NO HOT Water. Called customer support at Reliance and they helped me locate the problem. Which turned out to be a element with a hole in it. The rep stated "this happens to us a lot". So now I have to drain this heater and replace the element tommorow bc all the local stores are closed. How can a company know they are shipping out bad products ignore the problem and continue to stay in business?

I just purchased this water heater to replace one that was 21 years old. I hope this one lasts as long! It was hard to find one that would fit in a very limited space, but luckily I found this one and it did. We had hot water shortly after install and so far, no problems. I will update if I have any trouble with it. As of now, I am very pleased and spent way less than I thought I was going to have to spend.

I just noticed that my water heater of 21 years was weeping do to corrosion. I needed to replace it with a water heater with nearly exactly the same dimensions. I had a difficult time finding one with the same dimensions and was luckly to find this one. Install was quick, price was right, and within a short time..... hot water. Very content with the choice so far. I will update if I find that this product has a short life.

"Reliance" is not the word I would use for this brand. It burst in the middle of the day and flooded one floor of the house. Less than 5 years old. Still under warranty, but they sure make it tough to collect on it -- but then again, why would you want to get burned again? Just buy something else and move on.

THIS IS THE ONLY REASONABLY PRICED 50 GALLON MODEL WHICH WILL FIT IN THE ORIGINAL SPACE FOR A WATER HEATER IN MY HOME. IT IS THE SECOND RELIANCE I HAVE PURCHASED FROM ACE. THE FIRST ONE LASTED 13 YEARS.

We replaced an 18 year old 505 Series Reliance water heater with this new 606 model. Installation was a snap and it seems to be working just fine. So far we have had plenty of hot water and the included heat traps haven't given us any problems. I like how access to the anode is provided at the top of the unit. I am hopeful we can get as much service from this new unit as we did from our previous one.
