Upgraded from ACE wooden handle red poly rake of which I broke 2 in a day driving back and forth to the store. Just raking and applying moderate pressure halfway down the long handle to grab leaves, those and then this one, broke.
Although stronger, I think this one may have given way because it was warm and still summer. Normally one rakes in the winter, but we had a hurricane (Isaac).
The lousy paper thin steel rod wrapped in vinyl is another example of hardware that ain't hard.
