I searched high and low to find the best whole house fan for the money and feel fortunate to have found this one. I ordered it online to be delivered to the closest ACE hardware store, where the service was superb. It was delivered in 3 days and they called to advise of its arrive and even carried it to my car for me. I had this product installed in the hallway of my 2,000 sq ft home by my handyman. He said it was easy to install and it is super quiet to run. Am looking forward to the hot weather this summer just so I can use it ! Am looking forward to the savings on my electric bills, while I cool out a hot house with cool evening air before I go to sleep.

Installation is straight forward. Comes with shutter assy, and two position (hi/low) switch. Moves a lot of air and is quiet. Comparable to units costing 3 times as much. Be careful when handling (use gloves) because sheet metal edges are very sharp.

I researched many whole house fans and chose this one for price and quality of construction. It's very well made and works like a champ. Our house is very shielded and get hardly any evening breeze. The air may be cooler outside but we could never get any air flow with the windows open. The first time I turned this on a bunch of papers blew off the table from the air being drawn through an open window. We love it!

This fan was priced considerably lower than similar products at the time I was looking. I'm very happy with it overall. Quieter than expected--I don't mind the noise at low speed even in continuous use. Power is wired through the included 2-speed switch, which was an easier setup in my situation. That said, the package was missing two bolt assemblies for attaching the motor to the frame. Also, the picture shown--5 blade fan in black--was a completely different fan. This product is a 4 blade fan with bare aluminum surface.

Great product... Forget the 1900 sqft. limit. I use this fan to cool a 2400 sqft single story in Portland OR. Fantastic! I mounted mine in the entryway of my home; when it's on low, I can't hear it from around the corner. I used 2 layers of "Camper Shell" tape between the frame and the fan. I also built the frame out of 2x6's and capped it with 2x4's. Then, the fan. I have recommended this to everyone I know. I'm so glad I didn't purchase a direct-drive fan.

Installed this fan in the central hallway of a 2400 sqft 1-story home near Portland OR. SO GLAD I bought a belt drive fan - WAY more quiet than I expected. You can carry on normal conversations directly under this thing on high. On low, around a corner, you'll forget it's running. Makes a breeze in any room with an open window. Bang for the buck - I'm giving this thing an "A".
