We started stripping an old chest of drawers of several layers of paint using an old bottle of 3M Safest Stripper, ran out, and bought Mostenbocker's Lift Off. We aren't even going to use the rest of the Lift Off but will go out an buy another jug of the 3M product. The Lift Off is an acetone based product and shouldn't be used in closed spaces. It dries quickly so you need to work on small areas at a time. The 3M product takes longer (2 hours and overnight is how we used it) but it has no noxious volatiles and works well to soften old latex and oil paint layers.
