I have searched the internet high and low for months looking for this Deflect-O Ultra Seal Dryer Vent. As with other reviews, I have previously owned this vent at another residence I absolutely loved it. In my new home as other writers had stated the vent here would not close and was a problem. I was thrilled to find my replacement. They are wonderful

I put this on our dryer and the temp. increased in our laundry room 14 degrees. Have since bought 3 more for my Moms',sisters' and brothers' house and installed them all. Best product of its' kind on the market. Period!!!

We previously had this vent at our former house; and loved it. When we moved to our present home, the dryer vent was the last thing we were thinking about with all the boxes we had to unpapck. I noticed that very often the clothes in the dyrer were damp and cold to the touch. My husband investigated; and found that the flapper would not stay shut; thus allowing cold air to infiltrate. We had our plumber install the dryer vent since the pipe had to be replaced also. What a difference this vent makes!!! My clothes dry about ten minutes faster; so I am saving money also. In the spring we are planning to paint the vent to lengthen the life of the product. Totally happy with this vent; and would recommend it to anyone.

I got up one morning and it was -13 degrees outside and it was 46 Degrees in our laundry rm. I looked at the dryer vent hose and it had ice on it,the flapper wouldn't close. I got on line and checked Ace for what options they stocked. I found this one,then I called the store to see if it was stocked in their store. The young lady checked the computer and said they had one in stock,she put aside for me. I put in on in ten minutes and within an hour my laundry rm was back to what the thermostat was set. Love it,great product

It was a cinch to install and it works exactly as described. I had a vent with a flapper and it would not shut tight and let in a lot of cold air. This vent made a difference in my laundry area, it's warm now!!

Was so glad to find this item. It works well in keeping critters out. The only thing I had a concern about was the e-mail that I recieved about the item being shipped, I never got a e-m ail telling me the item was at the store ready for pick up. I just happened to stop in to inquire about it, and found that it was there. But any many thanks.

Great product. Works as stated. Does not tell you, but I think should be painted to match your decor, this will lengthen the life of the product.

I work at a company that uses foam. Many years ago most foam had no UV inhibitors. Now days almost all foam has UV inhibitors. Why can't your company also have UV inhibitors in your product. Duh!!!!!!!!

Installed one of these about ten years ago, it worked fine. Only problem was the lid cracked from exposure to the weather and would blow off when it was windy. Suggest you sell replacement lids. Everything else is fine.

The weak point is inside connection, not very secure, should offer a better way right off the bat.

I absolutly love the vent!!! The cold air in my bathroom is a memory and no more snow in the dryer! The mice can no longer get in the dryer vent either. I would recommend this product to everyone.

Our laundry room had a 15 degree difference from the rest of the house. The old style dryer vents just allow too much cold air into the house. With this new vent the temperature in the laundry room is the same as the rest of the house. The final result is saving money on our heating bill, and this item looks good as well on the outside of the house.

The vent does an excellent job eliminating infiltration. Replacing an existing vent is a bit challenging, but not difficult for the average DIY person. If your home has cedar or cement clapboard siding, recommend reversing pieces of this siding to shim out for the vent and support installation rather than cutting out the siding as the manufacturer recommends.

Increased room temperature by at least 5 to 10 degrees because we were losing so much heat to old vent. Definitely worth the cost over regular vent. Was challenging to get the interior exhaust vent to connect to this, but that might have just been my unique site conditions.

I had problems drying clothes and found out later that my vent was open at all times and would not close because it was filled with lint and it was old and warped. I had to keep re-drying my clothes, especially towels. I've wasted a lot of energy. So I went to Ace's website and found out about this product and read its reviews. I decided to purchase it online [...].I was able to removed the old vent and replaced it with Deflect-O. I had to buy a vinyl square box (cut a hole in the middle) to go between the siding and the new vent because I was unable to remove the pipe or metal duct from the wall and the it stuck out. There was a lot of gap between the vent and the siding so I had to use this vinyl part (that is made for outdoor light) but it worked for this purpose and the back of it made it flushed with the siding. After it was attached and secured, I filled in the gaps with caulk so no air or water can get it between siding, vinyl part, and vent. I did not attached the top part of the vent to the wall since the bottom part was securely attached to the wall and the main reason is I'd like to be able to remove the top cap later for easy cleaning. Instructions said that screws were provided but mine did not come with any. No more having to re-dry my clothes again. This thing works great and saves energy!

Brilliant design. Very easy to install. I used the opportunity to install a new 4" "through-the-wall" galvanized duct. The crimped end of the 4" duct needs to be outside and extend 1/2" beyond the outside wall. This allows the new dryer vent to slide over the duct.This vent truly does stop in inflow of cold air into the house. But if you fail to seal around the 4" duct, you will still experience cold air coming in around the vent (not through the vent). I sealed mine with a healthy dose of expandable foam, applied from both inside the house and out.This is one of those rare products that really live up to their claims. Best [$] I've spent on a home improvement product. Should have done this years ago. I highly recommend this dryer vent to anyone wanting to eliminate the cold air coming into the house through the dryer.Hope this is helpful.

I lived in Wisconsin for many years and our laundry room was always cold. We tried sealing the vent pipes and laying blankets on the pipes. The old vent would get stuck open by the smallest amount of lint. I finally found this vent at ACE and installed it. I was concerned about the size but after painting it was barely noticeable.
Our laundry went from freezing cold to the normal temperature and saved on heating.
We just spent our first winter in Baltimore and I am going out to get one of these vents for here...
