I treat my gas, change oil, and empty every summer.Had it in repair the second winter because it either would not run or had to keep it on 1/2 choke to make it run. Comments about Craftsman 24in. Two Stage Snow Thrower (98536):
This snowblower has been great in every way.
For those having issues with first-time startup the issue is most likely dirty fuel from the prior season being left in the line. Or it just needs primed with simple spray from a can of ether (pick it up at Ace).
I've had mine for years, and will be sad to see it go. But I'm moving to Hawaii and thus no need to take this with me!
For you snowbirds, this snowblower will be able to handle whatever you throw at it. Take care of it, and it will take care of you!
Pros
- Clears to the Pavement
- Maneuverable
Cons
- Engine Surges - Not Smooth
Best Uses
Comments about Craftsman 24in. Two Stage Snow Thrower (98536):
Machine works ok but engine (carburetor and governor) do not work as well as I would expect. Engine surges (speeds up and slows down on its own) more than I would expect. Generally I must leave choke partly on to get the engine to run smooth. I don't get a lot of snow so it is good enough for me. If I lived in an area where I got more snow I would consider getting a better quality unit.

When it starts its a fine machine for removing snow. But, every single year i have first time startup issues. Always floods out and lets me down when i need it. Will never buy a craftsman snowblower again.

Comments about Craftsman 24in. Two Stage Snow Thrower (98536):
This is a good blower for driveways and sidewalks.
Three things I like: It throws the snow far enough that I can handle a 3-car-garage sized driveway without moving the same snow twice. It has sufficient power without being unruly. I can move fairly heavy snow and plow berms. The two things that I don't like: The grips are slippery and the shear pin holder makes getting the pins out a challenge. I just keep min in my pocket instead.
I have no need for an electric start as I am out clearing clients driveways away from electricity. It starts easy enough on the first or second pull.

Comments about Craftsman 24in. Two Stage Snow Thrower (98536):
I just picked up the blower, I ordered on Thursday online, today is Saturday. Ace Hardware had it ready, THEY BUILT IT FREE OF CHARGE, even put in the oil. Haven't used, way to warm for snow. Oh, they also loaded it into my truck. ACE tops in service, pickup, and online ease.
