We already owned one and bought another as a gift. We line it with plastic bags which makes it easy to transport the contents to the compost bin and keeps it clean.

I feel like I wasted my money. Very upset. The lid never fit well so I had to keep it cocked open slightly or not at all. There is a silicon seal around the lid rim. If you take that off the lid fit better, but then I could barely get the lid off and had to pry it loose! The ss handle is a heavy gauge. Too heavy and falls off from the ceramic base. It's just the wrong assembly of parts. After owning the $30 kitchen composter for 4 days, I was putting it away and bumped the cabinet door and the lid fell off and smashed into a million bits. Now it is totally useless. Quite upset about wasting my money. do yourself a favor and get any glass/ceramic container with vaccuum seal lid and you will have all you need. grrr...

This was a great purchase. Now we can compost egg shells and vegetable scraps easily. This compost keeper holds plenty and there is absolutely no odor. This is good for the environment, too.
