I have made the best ribs and pulled pork in this thing all summer and fall. It will make you instantly popular with your friends when they hear you are cooking in it! I am a novice to smoking but it is pretty easy. The one thing I wish is that they had more recipes and instructions in the manual but I just looked online for tips. It's been alot of fun experimenting with recipes and I will miss it over the winter! It is easy to clean. I just wipe the inside out with a damp cloth - no cleaning products please! Everything else washes up with soap and water.

Bought several years ago for convience of electrical. Seems the electronic control will go out each season (Digital part quits working so you cannot read). I leave my unit under a shed with a cover (theirs) over it. They say I should either take electronic unit off or move unit into a more weather secure location. They want you to disassemble electronic unit or move whold unit into house, smells and all! Redicuous! Oh yes, customer support wants you to buy a new control unit each time--somewhere around $40+ rather than weather proof their unit or make it better. I'll spend my money on someones elses products from now on, how about you?

Comments about Masterbuilt® Digital Electric Smokehouse (20070910):
I purchased my Materbuilt Elec Digital Smoke House 4 years ago and love it.I have smoked all kinds of meat with it, we even use it during deer season to smoke & cook our deer sausage and jerkey. My friend had a Brinkman after the first year I had my Smoke House at his place he bought one and brags it to everyone. I have taken mine when we go camping put it on our trailer behind our Fifth Wheel, have done Ribs, Loin, Pork Butt, Chicken, Fish, Brisket etc every thing was great. If you want a great smoker & great price get the Smokehouse Elec Digital model.

Comments about Masterbuilt® Digital Electric Smokehouse (20070910):
I have been smoking for almost 20 years. This was the first electric smoker I have owned and it is great. After cooking numerous pork shoulders and ribs, has been great everytime. It holds the smoke in very well, which is great because I love applewood and it is a mild smoke. Everything is always fall off the bone tender and has a great even flavor. The only issue I sometimes have is getting a really good bark on the boston butts. I love this smoker and would recommend it to anyone who wants a quick, easy, and hassle free way to smoke. Also, some people complain that the digital component goes out after a few years, well that is to be expected from a digital device in the elements. Especially one priced to sale like this one. The overall product is great.

This is a great smoker! The temperature remains perfectly stable and cooks meat perfectly! We have done pork shoulder and ribs, and it was the best we have tasted! It is easy to use and creates the same effect as a charcoal system. I would definitely recommend!

I did a lot of homework before settling on this one for my husbands birthday gift. He LOVES it. we're foodies and he is an excellent cook anyway. The smoker is terrific, sturdy, easy to use and clean . We'll get a lot of use of out of it. and the cover was less than $20 which was nice-and way cheaper than our grill cover!

Just bought the smoker...wife came home with a 13lb brisket. I looked online and soon discovered that brisket is one of the trickier meats to get just right: undercooked = tough...overcooked = dry. I decided to go with the seemingly universal 185 degrees internal temp. I cut the brisket into 3 equal pieces applied mustard and a rub and refrigerated overnight....smoked it at 225 with mesquite. After about 8 hrs it hit 185. We had guests for dinner and all were amazed how tender, juicy and smoky the meat was. Very easy smoker to use and clean...looking fwd to my next smoke.....either ribs or pork shoulder/butt.

Comments about Masterbuilt® Digital Electric Smokehouse (20070910):
I researched smokers for several month's before settling on this model and it has not disappointed. It makes plenty of smoke, heats quickly and burns wood at a good rate. I have found that meat takes on it's best flavor when you wait until the meat has been in for about 20 percent of the total cooking time before introducing the wood. This is especially true when using hardwoods such as hickory, mesquite and alder.
The insulated walls make it practical to use in the winter and it is just fine in a screened porch to keep it out of the moisture. The door seals tightly and the smoke comes out the top vent and the wood feeder adequately.

I manage a retirement community of 110 apartments. My Executive Chef has borrowed this smoker several times from our Sous Chef and loves it.
I am planning to surprise him with one next week so we will have our own.
My residents love it when he cooks with it.

First smoker we bought. easy to use and loved it. the four racks could hold alot of ribs, turkey legs (they were great) pork butts etc...we especially liked to smoke fish..we were occasional users about once a month. but after 2 years the heating element died. i have read on line that this has been a problem with these smokers. now i am looking for a new smoker but hesitant to buy another masterbuilt. but i definately will get another electric smoker. i used it more often than my husband so i like not bothering with propane or charcoal.
