I have heated my 1300 sq ft house in Alaska with this stove for 3 years. Even when it is -20 this stove keeps my family warm. A full fire box will last about 3-4 hours. My chimney temp I like to keep at 425. For max heat I use a fan about 5 feet from stove. I can heat my house up to 90 if I want, but usually I keep it at 75. It takes about 25 min to get the stove heated up. I burn birch, cottonwood, willow, pallets-basically what ever kind of wood I can find. I burn about 5 to 6 cords of wood a winter and sweep my chimney 2 times a year. I love this stove.

This stove was superior to the one at [...] in that it had full firebox air controls, [...] had none, just a small airwash for the window.Unfortunately due to pollution standards or something, it is constantly starving for air thus always need to have the door cracked to operate, the air wash system is a joke and it drafts very poorly and while trying to clean the window with a soft cloth and dawn detergent the glass scratched as if I had used steel wool on it.Weld quality is very poor and the upper chamber baffle is cheap and flimsy and was a big part of the stove choking for air.I built an adjustable steel baffle so the stove can exhaust smoke better and can now be tuned for different types of wood, and opened up the air nozzles to five times their factory specs and now the stove performs much better, no more having to crack the door.Bottom line, out of the box it is a big let down, many of the Chinese stoves have much better build quality but this one had better air management potential. If you like to tweak things, it worked on this one but on its own it is something you will want to pass on...spend a bit more and get a Lopi or good name brand otherwise you will be disapointed.

Bought this stove 4 years ago and still working like the first day. Only issue we had some rust stains which we took care of which high heat paint. I am buying one for my son fo this Christmas
Be aware the stove is very heavy and difficult to move.

Comments about England's Stove Works® 1500Sq Ft Free Standing Wood Burning Stove (50-SNC13):

This stove was very easy to install and set up. It has burned efficiently and does a great job at keeping our home in Butte Mt very comfortable. October was our lowest power/gas bill since we purchase our home in 18 months. The blower that comes stocked on the stove will literally run you out of the room if on high. We purchased one that is for more square footage but wanted to ensure that for any winter Montana throws at us we can handle. And on usual it takes 2 logs or 8 pieces per 24 hours. This thing is awesonme

Fantastic stove. I used my stove to heat my 1500sq ft home, and not only did it keep us warm (maybe a little too warm...) I never had to turn on the fan! I was able to get close to 7 hours of burn at night, if packed correctly with un-split rounds. And hardly any creasote after 3 cords.

This stove heats our 1900 sq/ft 2 story house after about 2 hours of moderate burn. I only use on weekends, but it starts quickly and burns clean assuming you know how to burn a stove. I added a damper for additional control. Uses only minimal wood once fired. This is a great stove that is super attractive and solid construction.

You can't find the effiency rating or the BTU output till you look at the insert in the Manual. It's well hidden for a reason...it wont heat unless you overfire it and there goes your wood. might work if your house is super insulated.

I'm not sure why anyone would have problems with this stove. I had my chimney professionally installed straight up through the attic and through the roof. I throw 3 or 4 pieces of wood about 1 and 1/2 inches in diameter in with a fire starter and leave the door wide open for about a half hour and its started. I have no puffing back into the room so I put some wood in and it heats my whole house. A beautiful fire and super clean glass. This is the best stove I ever had.
