I have had this Dehumidifier for about 3 months. I use this in my 1100 sq rental Townhouse in Florida, I got the 50 p unit, but Florida is so humid most of the year, I should have gotten a 65 pint on instead of the 50, so it runs all the time, shuting off only once in awhile. It is kind of noisey but it works wonderful and it makes a huge difference in the air quality in the house. It used to stay humid about 65-70%, even with the Cental Air going..it never really pulled out enough water unless you dropped temp down in the low 60's and im not much an C-Air lover. So when I kept the AC at about 73 in summer-the C-Air just ran constantly and air still felt heavy all time. In the winter here the CA and Heat are kind of in between..it had to be really cold for heat run or really warm for CA to run, so the air really got bad-- was stagnant/stale. Now with this Dehumidifier... the humidity is lower, the air feels lighter and smells fresher. I feel better, I love love this unit. Also love the auto defrost on this dehumidifier.

Extracts a lot of water but the pan is 20lb when full and very hard to get in and out, and there is no clear drain area when you empty the pan so the water splashes all over the place.

During heavy rains we get a little water in the basement - after Hurricane Irene we had a small puddle but the walls were damp behind the insulation - bought this dehumidifier to dry it out and remove the smell. Ran it 24 hrs. a day, emptying it every 8 hrs. - it pulled 2 gal every 8 hrs. and you could feel the difference in the air as it worked. When the house was quiet, you could hear it running but was not intrusive. We ran it for 4 days straight on Turbo(high), it brought the humidity down to 63%, dried out everything and is now setting idle but will be used anytime the humidity gets high or we get water in the basement. Some may wonder why we did not continue to run and remove more humidity - because if you get it too dry, your skin will itch, walk across carpet and electricity will snap, pet the cat or dog and get a snap(pets don't like that very much) and gives you a dry nose. We like the humidity about 60 - 65%.
I would recommend this product to anyone. It ran and performed as advertised. Good buy.

Easy setup out of box, follow directions, easy to empty, really noticed difference after running for a day in regard to humidity level and smell, unit being used in a wet basement after hurricane Irene, advise using in conjunction with a floor fan for greater dryout/dehumidification, noisy to run in turbo position but really does a great job, this unit is replacing an older unit approx 30 years old, technology has certainly come a long way!
