Have had the unit for 2 weeks. [...] If you have large open spaces, this unit would definitely work without purchasing a higher BTU unit. Cools 15 X 20 bedroom and open adjacent master bath (15 X 14) very well. I don't find the unit too noisy. Easy window installation. Lighter weight and more energy efficient than 7-year old unit that finally failed. Controls are easy to use. Has remote, but I don't use it. The side "curtain" assembly (to fit to window width) pictures and instructions could use a good deal of improvement.
