This Salsa mix is absolutely wonderful! Its the right combination of spices, although I would recommend chopping at least 1 large onion and 1 green pepper to give the salsa a bit more chunkiness (if you prefer). The vegetables in the packet are dehydrated. Its good with just the tomatoes though.
We had tons and tons of tomatoes from our garden, and this was an easy and delicious way to use them. I did not try canning, but if you can, it would make a great gift. I have made 2 batches of this salsa, and I'll be buying a 3rd pack to use up the rest of this season's tomatoes.
I shared some with my grandma who likes her salsa mild, and she was asking where I bought the seasoning packet. (I added more tomatoes to hers to lessen the heat.) She said she's spoiled--the jarred stuff in the store is not good anymore! I also shared some with the guys at my local Ace store, and got comments back that it was really good.
I also made Salsa Chicken, which was very easy to make. (Go to allrecipes.com and search "Salsa chicken".)
This takes a little time to make, but it's well worth the effort and it makes A LOT!

when we spotted this product in the canning section in our local [...]we were hesitant. But, being bold we jumped at the chance that perhaps mrs wages may know more about making salsa than we do. Yep!!! Sure enough, she showed us. (we really do not know if it is a he or she), who cares when this stuff is awesome!!!! Since then we have also used the pasta sauce, and the pizza sauce, both top shelf products and so easy to use. The instructions for canning, freezing or immediate use are easy to follow. Thank you for having such a fine product!!!
