it is not something you want if you have hard water,it plugs up before the 3 gallontank isempty have to clean it after every tank of water

I bought this item to replace a much older Honeywell model that was very similar to this one. However this new model leaks a lot of water from the base.

Took it out of the box and followed all the instructions, and every time I tried to use it it leaked water all over the place. I did several tests and no matter if it was on or off, it still leaked. I returned it.

I had a previous Honeywell humidifier that was very similar to this one that worked great for 3 solid years and then suddenly stopped steaming. To replace it I tried a cheaper brand from a major discount store. It generally worked, but had flaws compared to the Honeywell so I returned it. One big annoyance was the tank wouldn't fit under a bathroom faucet to fill, so I had to use the tub faucet.
Well, I found this new black HWM-950 and it is even better than my previous Honeywell. It has a sleeker design and better control dial. There is also a very cool looking green light surrounding the dial. The tank can be filled most of the way under my low bathroom faucet. Once turning it on, this unit kicks out the steam in a very short time and creates a lot of steam. The low setting will be more than adequate for most bedrooms.
Everything about this humidifier is well thought-out and well engineered. Simply put, it works like it is supposed to with no problems. I use a humidifier every night through the dry winter months and it definitely helps keep cold and flu away and helps you feel better sooner when you do fall ill.
