I use this product for Pressure Cooker canning and even freezing leftover chili, chicken broth and beef broths. Great product and the wide mouth really helps in adding hot foods to the jars. Local price was better, BUT each store is a local franchise owner so returning/repurchasing them would have cost my neighbor merchant plus a significant amount of hassle and paperwork.

So, yes, I wanted to make an off-hours order and no, I didn't want to spend the time & gas to hunt locally, and no, I didn't imagine that my local hardware would have classic canning jars in Michigan in March. But they did. Mea culpa.

The mason jars, of course, are excellent and will be happy as non-plastic, inexpensive canisters for dry goods in my pantry.

I purchased these jars in order to organize my lunches and snacks. LOVE LOVE LOVE the wide mouth lid. Plus the jars are straight, all the way through, no curves towards the bottom or top, which makes cleaning easier.

I ordered online and had it shipped to the nearest store, perfection, not one was broken. Which was what I feared on Amazon. All in all, love the product and it estimates about $1 per jar. Shipped in less than a week.

What can I say? They are mason jars and very good. I seal them with a hand pump and it saves my lettuce for longer than usual. I also use them directly on my blender for my smoothies.

I will add that I loved Ace Hardward. Had not been before and liked their selection of products and customer service.

I love Ball Jars. I use them to fement/culture vegetables, to make food gifts, to make hurry-up hurricane lamps with candles, to store things... They work, and are great, but I do recommend getting a supply of dome lids (they corrode quickly) or trying out the re-usable lids you can find in some places. The storage lids are also useful to have on hand.

I purchased 48 1 quart mason jars for a friend's bridal shower favors, and they were great! I made sand art brownies in a jar (essentially dry mix layers with attached liquid ingredient list and baking instructions). I spray painted the jar lids and had no trouble, and the seals were great. Awesome for small crafts like wedding favors!
