Product appears to be pure and works well to increase teh amount of calcium/ hardness in my fish pond.
It also generates a fair amount of heat so it should also work well on my front steps this Winter.

Called the company and they made excuses for the product doing what it does. Had it in a pail and it got rain on it during and ice storm. The stuff turned to a solid block and is not usable. Got some more out of the bag and sprinkled it on the wooden desk and steps and came in the house. Had some on my feet so it was slippery. Cleaned up the floor and mopped it. I have since mopped the floor 3 times and you can not walk on the floor without slipping and sliding. We have laminate floors and the company said to just keep moping and doing it over and over it will stop eventually. They also said that as long as it is on the deck or wood surface that it will take warm weather and lots of soapy water to get the slippery slime off the steps. Hope you have good homeowners insurance. Use this and you will get sued. Trash product and is not recommended by me, unless you want to have a slip and fall. Company that makes the product does not care and needs to be sued!

Great stuff. Comes as flakes and is easy to handle. Works very well in ice-dam socks for those pesky ice dams along your roof and gutter areas. Excellent as well for walkways and driveways. It has no sodium chloride (salt) so it is less corrosive and less harmful to plants, etc. Also, it works down to much lower temperatures than salt.
