I've read plenty of reviews on this brewer and just don't get it. This thing is awesome. I always get a great cup of coffee, I see reviews saying the coffee is too cold; I have to let it cool down quite a bit before I drink it, so no idea what that is about unless you are trying to burn your tongue. I have read about k-cups not being compatible, have yet to run into a single variety that doesn't work, where are you buying your coffee?! Even Aldi's epic cheap coffee works in this thing, not that I'd drink that swill. I've read that it's loud, I mean... It's brewing a cup of coffee in under a minute... It's going to be a little loud, but really, not bad at all. I read that people don't like having to pick a cup size every brew. Those people must not have any variety in their brews, for coffee I use a 10oz brew, but I drink teas and cocoa that are best suited for an 8oz brew, you have to pick every time because every brew is different. Some people can just never be satisfied I guess. My ONLY issues with this brewer are despite the 70oz reservoir, I do have to fill it often, and also the filter will tell me to change long before it actually needs to be. Otherwise, love my coffee, love my brewer. Great rewards program, awesome variety.

This is my third Keurig coffee maker. Got my first in 2011 the next in 2013 till it died on 10/25/15. Loved the fact that I could get up brew a cup of coffee and be out the door in no time. The coffee was always hot and NEVER had a problem with it. I purchased the Keurig 2.0 450 model that night which was a Sunday. By Saturday the water was trickeling out. Wasted 3 pods before I called customer service. They told me I needed to clean it with the cleaning tool. They talked me through it and it worked fine. I used it 3 more times that day Got up Sunday tried to make a cup of coffee wham same thing. Called Keurig and they tell me that it is a problem with the 2.0 systems and I have to clean it after every 5 or 6 cups. I am up at 5 and out the door by 6. I DON'T have time to do this. I never heard of such a thing. It is inconvenient and time consuming for such an expensive machine.Keurig should have left well enough alone. The old system was the best. DO NOT
waste your money on this maker until they improve this. I am sorry I didn't read the reviews before hand. Can you imagine how embarrasing it will be to have company over and have to say excuse me I have to clean my brewer before I make the next cup of coffee. Come on Keurig really.

what a joke

Comments about Keurig Programmable Coffee Brewer (119297):

I bought this a week ago and got it yesterday. it is very noisy, clinks and groans. I was able to make a full carafe of strong coffee in my Nunn before the 2,0 could grind out 8 oz of weak coffee.

K450

By Cam F

from Harriston ON

Comments about Keurig Programmable Coffee Brewer (119297):

I started out with a K200, it lasted 6 months before I got frustrated with coffee grounds in my cup. I am currently on my 4th replacement brewer, they upgraded me to a K450 on my 3rd brewer, it is no better that than the K200. The staff at Keurig are extremely helpful, if the 2.0 system worked I would be an extremely happy customer.

Comments about Keurig Programmable Coffee Brewer (119297):

If I could get a Keurig 1.0 I would. Had a 2.0 model 200 which clogged and took it back for this one; no clock. The 425 has better/more settings, and it has a clock. But between cups it takes a long time to preheat the water.

This is garbage. Sometimes the machine works fine, other times the pod overflows inside the machine and makes a huge mess, coffee grinds explode out of the machine and I have to clean it up over and over. This machine is BRAND NEW and was sent to me by Keurig themselves because my last machine was dispensing 1/4 of a cup on a large cup setting. Very disappointed.

I had a Keurig ELITE for YEARS. Then it broke. Went to replace it and all I was able to find was the 2.0. I purchased it because it said on the box that it would work with all k-cups. Well it doesn't. I've had to "rig it up" to use it with the hundreds of dollars of K-Cups I have on hand. THIS IS THE WORST coffee maker I've ever had. Why would Keurig do this? They have gone from BEST to WORST. I cannot wait to get rid of it and find a coffee maker that will work with the k-cups that I have. BEWARE, DO NOT BUY THIS COFFEE MAKER.

The 2.0 was my second Keurig after my original one died after about 2 years. Now the 2.0 lasted a year and a half, Im done. I will take all of the pods, open them into a coffee container and go back to a regular drip machine. I just wish a product would be manufactured in the USA and last longer. This just shows the lack of quality and consideration for a consumer's money.

Extremely disappointed in the 2.0. Seems Keurig has succeeded in making a useless coffeemaker unless you use their products exclusively. Have to buy adapter to use bulk coffee . Can't make tea with bags in the carafe or if you try to make it in a any other pitcher, will not dispense water in any amount larger than 6 oz. Much slower than original Keurig. Carafe won't keep the beverage warm enough to drink during your meal. Will never buy another and wish I hadn't bought this one!

I loved my K65 special edition Kuerig and was sad when it broke. When I tried to replace it I found that it was no longer available. All the stores I went to only carried the 2.0 reader versions which I did not want. I was skeptical about the reader and didn't need a carafe. I just wanted the good old classic Keurig. But I had no choice so I bought the 2.0. While it worked I went thru 2-3 pods to get a cup of coffee because the reader didn't work. Then I couldn't even get hot water. By the weeks end the machine didn't work at all. I then found a k45 at Staples and bought that. Not as nice as the k65 but at least it was the good old basic Keurig - or so I thought. That was another disaster. It's loud, the water splatters everywhere and the coffee tastes like plastic. I've run it a dozen times to see if the plastic taste would go away but it didn't. I'm not sure what Keurig has done - changed parts, manufacturers??? - but these new machines are awful. So sad because it was such a great product. I'm researching other Brewers now because I can't wait for them to fix these problems and frankly no longer trust the brand. These machines shouldn't be on the shelves.

This has been the worst Keurig machine I've ever owned. I use filtered water, and still have to descale every 2 or less months. It constantly clogs when brewing and doesn't finish brewing the whole cup. Now I've had it just over a year, and the water pump no longer works. My FIRST Keruig still works. In fact my Keurig that I gave away for this one...still works. The 2.0 is the WORST idea EVER....going back to an older model THAT WORKS.

We had a Keurig that we used routinely with no problems for over three years. We loved it. It recently stopped working, so we bought a new Keurig. Right away I noticed the poorer quality of the new machine compared to the old one. No water filter and all plastic where the other had chrome features were obvious quality changes. Within three weeks it stopped working. I performed the maintenance several times to no avail. We returned it and bought another Keurig. After one week it also quit brewing. I called the support line and was asked to stick a paper clip up the needle and jiggle it. Really? I will be returning this one and buying a different brand of better quality. I am very disappointed with Keurig, especially since we were so satisfied with our first machine.

As much as I love and as long as I have used KEURIG......I am not so sure that I will continue using KEURIG. It seems to me that when a new model comes out it is because they have IMPROVED the product. That sadly is not the case!!! My new unit is LOUD and takes forever for a cup of coffee. It is so SAD as I am a KEURIG lover and love and appreciate their A+ customer service......not sure how or why they allowed this to happen. When I go through my one million k-cups I will seriously have to consider going back to a regular coffee pot!!! C'mon KEURIG....go back to the drawing board!!!!!!!!!!

I have been a long-time Keurig user. We started with the mini one, that was a little workhorse that we rarely had problems with, and, it is still working in my son's office. This one I purchased in November. Didn't even start using it until January. And now it stopped working, the hot water takes ten minutes, squirting out a bit at a time, even after the cycle is done. Then you have about a quarter of a cup of water. Same thing with the coffee. Did the de-scale, which seemed ridiculous for a machine that had hardly been broken in. I have liked the extra features, but think the old models were more reliable. Hope to resolve with Customer Service.

Comments about Keurig Programmable Coffee Brewer (119297):

Keurig says that "when we created the Keurig 2.0 brewer we wanted to keep the things people love about Keurig, like its legendary simplicity". But in this they failed miserably; it is as if the Keurig engineers were instructed to make every feature less useful and more work to use than previous models.

My 6 year old Keurig B60 was failing and needed to be replaced. I decided to get another Keurig brand brewer, thinking that the Keurig 2.0 represented the latest and greatest Keurig technology. But the K450 is a collection of bad design choices, and there isn't any sign of engineering improvements.

The very first thing you do upon setting it up is to run a cleaning cycle. And that's when you discover the most annoying defect: unlike previous Keurigs, the Keurig 2.0 has an unfathomable restriction on the amount of hot water that it can suspense. It maxes out at 6 oz! No hot cereal for you!

There can be no technical reason for this, as it can dispense 9 different sizes of hot water when pods are inserted. It just seems to be there to annoy the consumer. And it sure annoys me, because I regularly used my B60 to dispense the large cup size of hot water.

The Keurig B60 had the one-button simplicity that the Keurig engineers professed to admire. Not so with the Keurig 2.0! Do you use a standard size coffee mug? You can't just click one button to brew anymore, now you have to change the brew size every. single. time.

Think you can get around that buying up to the more expensive K450, which advertises a Favorites feature? No, what the advertising doesn't say is that the Favorites feature is restricted to K-Carafes, again for no apparent reason other than to annoy the consumer.

Keurig may say that since the K450 has a touch screen, it will of course take more button presses than a machine like the B60 with dedicated cup size buttons. Yes, but it should only require that one time. Any machine designed for easy use should remember what you selected so the next time you can default to the same options. Making the user re-select every setting (such as size and strength) every time is, again, just designed to annoy the customer.

The design of the water sensor has changed too. Keurig advertises that the K450 has a 70 oz tank, but it is really much less than that, because it demands the water to be refilled long before it is empty (about when it still has 1/4 tank left). And unlike the B60, it won't detect when you've added enough water to satisfy it. You have to manually tell the LCD display that you've just added water!

Finally we come to the DRM issue. The fact that the Keurig 2.0 has DRM is irritating, but I could live with it since I've never bought non-licensed cups. What does bug me is the disingenuousness of Keurig's facile explanation, which is: "Keurig 2.0 Brewing Technology® enables the brewer to recognize the inserted Keurig® pod and optimize to the recommended, customized setting for that particular beverage. "

First, this makes no sense, since somehow the Keurig 1.0 machines were and are perfectly able to brew the same K-cups that go into the Keurig 2.0 machines. There is no reason that the Keurig 2.0 machines couldn't default to brewing with the same settings as the Keurig 1.0 machines.

But what really is annoying is that Keurig's statement isn't true. I was fooled into thinking that the Keurig 2.0 machine would optimize the brewing according to the beverage, but once you get an actual machine, guess what? It makes the user tell the machine what kind of K-cup beverage you've inserted! That's right, it can't even tell the difference between Coffee, Cocoa and Other, and in resounding blow against "legendary simplicity", asks the user to tell it what you've put in. (And if you do brew a lot of cocoa/other, be prepared to tell it that every. single. time.)

So the entire reason for getting a Keurig 2.0 machine, to get improved technology for optimized brewing doesn't even do what is advertised.

And don't forget: it won't brew a mug of hot water.

No 12 oz cup selection, no memory ability, coffee was horrible in that it took on the taste of the machine's plastic. The maker did not turn on when it was programmed to turn on, etc. Do not buy.

I love Keurig machines, but if I could rate this machine a ZERO I would. We bought this model when our first Keurig quit working after many years of service. We thought we would try the 2.0 so we could downsize to just one machine. A single use for the two of us and the carafe for company. We should have kept 2 machines. We purchased this model in July 2015. A couple of days after purchase we discovered you can't use any other K-cup in the machine unless it is a Keurig and some of the Keurig K-cups won't work. Our first Keurig worked with all K-cups. We had to give away boxes of K-cups because of this. In December 2015 the display quit working. Thank goodness we knew where to push on the display panel to make it heat up and make selections. Today, after only 7 months of service the Keurig 2.0 quit working completely. Did we just get a bad machine or is it the 2.0? I suppose we will never know. The machine gets good reviews so maybe we just got a bad machine. But I don't believe that will fix the issue of not accepting all K-cups like our first machine did. I wouldn't recommend purchasing a 2.0 to anyone. There are other options in the Keurig machines to choose from.
