Easy to set up, easy to use. The convenience of being able to lock/unlock door with just touch is fantastic. Note: unlock isn't "instant" - it varies between 3-10 seconds depending on your phone's physical location (see below). Have been using lock for approximately 3/4 of a year in a cold and wet climate. Still on same set of batteries. Love the product, really wish firmware was updated to support WINK! Pro tips: - Easier to install with two people (one to hold the hardware from the outside while the other tightens the bolts from the inside of the door) ~ 10 minutes. - if you have a 32" door with a glass insert you'll need to notch out about 1/4" from the glass trim to accommodate the installation of the hardware/battery compartment inside your home. - No need to use the calibrate option. - Key FOB is automatically paired to lock from factory. - Going forward, when unlocking, easier/faster if you have the device exactly where it was when you locked the door for the first time (I.E. in your purse/same pocket/same hand etc. as it guesstimates by the phone's actual location). - Disable power management for the KEVO app on your phone. - If after doing all the above, unlocking seems to be taking longer than before, try changing the batteries (use alkaline) in the lock. Wishlist/features I'd like to see implemented: HARDWARE - ability to select the colour of LED for various states. I.E. Green = locked (instead of currently unlocked); Orange/Red = caution for unlocked (instead of locked); Purple = thinking (instead of blue); Blue = Try again - ability to lock/unlock with Wink! instead of unnecessary and expensive KEVO Plus add-on (after all, Wink! hub supports total home intergration and has the required level of Bluetooth - integration is what folks want, not another gadget to place within close proximity, fighting for valuable power outlet real estate). - ability to specify double-tap (@ the lock, not the app) to avoid unlocking/locking accidently. - smaller footprint for inside hardware/battery compartment (so as to avoid having to notch out glass trim on 32" doors). SOFTWARE - app doesn't report notifications correctly (published time of **event** in app notification doesn't match time of **event** as specified in email notification for Newfoundland time zone). I'm not referring to the time the email is received... I am referring to the actual time of the event. - app to work without having to launch it twice (first time just closes out, second time it works - Note 4 Edge as well as Note 5). - ability to sort/search history by date, time and person.

Awesome when it works which is rarely

My family of five has been using this for a year. One iPhone 6 works reliably, after finding the documentation to set the iPhone setting so it would work without the app being open. Another iPhone 6 doesn't work reliably even with this setting. Another iPhone 6 user wasn't willing to bear the cost of Bluetooth on all the time and so went back to using a metal key. It works fine for one family member with a Samsung Android phone. It worked 30% or so of the time for a family member with a Moto X phone which is admittedly not supported by Kwikset. Why not??? The key fob that came with it worked for awhile, but in a year, I have had to change its battery four times. Sometimes it works for a week at a stretch, but then I have to reset it with a pen to get it going again. The lock from time to time locks on its own without anyone touching it and often even when the person just leaving doesn't have any electronic devices with them. On several occasions this behavior has resulted in us being locked out of our own house. It has not yet erroneously unlocked. If it did, I would remove it and throw it away. However, the erroneously locking is very annoying. I have had a Nissan Leaf for a year and a half and its electronic key fob has worked flawlessly during that time. Perhaps Kwikset needs to hire their engineers to redo their electronics. I give this product two stars because it does work about 40% of the time. When it works, it is awesome. However, as soon as some similar product comes along that works nearly 100% of the time, I am ripping this thing out and trashing it!!!

I have a Kevo 2 lock for 9 months now. It's a good lock but can be great with a few changes (see below) - Installation: Not as simple as it seems but not difficult. Took about 30 minutes. Had an issue with the screw but contacted support and support provided a new set of screws quickly. Support was awesome. Love the ability to "re-key" so I use can my existing keys. - Usage: Deadbolts lock very smooth from the inside. Able to use my phone to lock from the outside with no issues. Set up on grandma's iPhone and now she loves the keyless entry. Love that it's no unlimited virtual keys. - Improvement opportunities (to make this a great lock) 1. faster response time from the iOS app. Sometimes have to wait while the iPhone connects to the lock 2. Better fit - my lock fit isn't perfect. My kevo 1 fit was perfect.

We have had our lock for about half a year now and the only issue we ever had was with Android apps which has been repaired now and the fact you have to use normal quality alkaline batteries in it, not cheap ones or lithium. Has to be normal alkaline Energizer or Duracell or it wont function properly - Has worked like a charm doing this. We have the Kevo plus allowing for checking up on the lock remotely when we want to make sure the lock is locked while we are away and see when caregivers come and go making sure their clock in times are accurate (more accurate than they would normally be). So with that information we use this on a daily basis many times per day. Caregivers come and go all day running errands or taking my fiance places. My fiance can unlock it from anywhere in the house using her phone (knowing someone she is expecting is at the door by them texting her that they are here). She can see if it is locked or unlocked at home or away and it adds for more security and safety for her. Since she has caregivers she can send and revoke virtual e-Keys at any time giving them access at certain times or any time and that allows for more security knowing once the e-Keys are revoked no other copies are running around. This adds for a safer and more secure environment after terminating caregivers or after they move on. After having this Kevo - I will never use another lock as long as I live if I can help it - the ability to lock and unlock from anywhere, send and revoke e-Keys at any time from anywhere, and the ability to unlock it with a phone and not having to use a key every time makes this a priceless investment. We had a hard time affording it, but the outcome has become something to celebrate over as it has helped over and over and prevented us from having to change locks multiple times over the last few months with caregivers coming and going probably making this investment free in just a short amount of time not having to do that alone.

Purchased this lock in sept of 2016 from home depot. Had to return the original as it turned out to be a previous return lovk that was previously opened and bits were missing. Second lock was sealed new. Lock was quik and easy to install and easy to set up. Never had an issue with lock jam. Every once while it does not want to vonnect with the phone but this issue is far and few and usually corrects itself promptly after the second touch.

Put this on front door & got Kevo Router paired with Skybell HD. Key for lock can be manually changed to match existing key by owner. I bought two sets of regular and dead bolt key sets then set all keys to match Now all doors on home and garage match handle & deadbolt With Skybell I can see who is at door and let them in FROM ANYWHERE I can also issue & revoke keys when ever I want from anywhere After extensively researching locks this was the best. Program updates are easy and make produced better each time. I called customer service during install and they were very helpful and offered a couple of install tips that solved my problem and made job easier

I bought this lock about 6 months ago and then added the Kevo Plus shortly thereafter. The Kevo Plus does not work at all. The Kevo usually responds, but sometimes decides it's not feeling like it. I don't know whether the issue is my phone or the lock, but the fact is that it's not reliable, so I always have to have a physical key as well. Between the time it takes to unlock and the fact that it doesn't always work, I'm not sure it was worth the investment.

I installed two of these, one on the front door, one on the back door, and bought the kevo plus system so I could control it remotely. When it works, it's great. The problem is that most of the time it doesn't work. Very rarely can I just walk up to the door with my phone in my pocket and touch the bezel to unlock. At best, I have to take the phone out, open the Kevo app, and open the lock with the app. The amount of time this takes its faster to just hit the keypad on my garage door and go in that way. This makes the whole installation pretty much useless. I wish this worked reliably so that I could recommend it.

We've owned the Kevo since it was originally introduced. Enticed by the features, ease-of-use and installation, we were thrilled to install it. Unfortunately, the product has been marred by inconsistent behavior, erratic functionality, and bizarre battery life. It does not always unlock. We calibrated it numerous times, and yet it does not always work. Every once in a while, it unlocks when the phone is INSIDE the house, despite checking on antenna placement and calibration. Sometimes we have to restart the app, force restart, or delete and reinstall to work. The battery life is very inconsistent; we had some last months, and others last weeks. The locking mechanism itself is slow, loud, and doesn't sense when the door isn't closed, so it will lock even when the door is opening. I'm curious as to how V2 functions. I'd definitely want the Internet bridge to help with general connectivity.

I bought 50+ Kwikset venetian bronze handles as my wife wanted me to update the look and get rid of the brass older look... while there, I saw the 925 Bluetooth item, and installed one at my house here in st. louis, along with installing one at my summer home at the Lake of the Ozarks. It's been a tremendous benefit, as now I can simply lock and unlock lake home from the my cell phone. Makes it a breeze to lock and unlock while being 200 miles away....

Not quite ready for general public

I have the first generation of this lock and I love it, however; it just isn't quite ready for the mainstream public. When it works it is awesome. The Bluetooth functionality is somewhat painful, as the device and phone have to connect before it works and that sometimes can be minutes. If you also have the Kevo Plus it improves the likelihood of being able to open your door quicker, but involves opening the app. Additionally, you probably won't be able to get the Plus to work without calling support because its "increased" range doesn't come enabled out of the box and enabling it can't be completed without calling them

Great lock, easy to install, app is easy to navigate. My only issue is the $99 upcharge to add Kevo Plus functionality. If you have any kind of 'Smart Home' setup, you might be better off using their z-wave version as it integrates to smart hubs easier.

I purchased this product for my condo which I am away from for months of the year. I particularly liked the feature that would allow me to provide a 1-time or multiple use code to a visitor to enter while I'm away. I installed the deadbolt lock which went smoothly & without incident & it works reasonably well. However, I learned subsequent to installation that it only works with an iPhone. I carry an Android and plans to make this product compatible are vague at best. I like the product but wish it were compatible with my phone.

No more keys!!

I installed two KÄ""vo blue tooth locks 6 months ago. It was easy to install and setup on phone. It works great!! Keeping track of history is a great feature. Sending eKey is awesome!! Ability to rekey to any key yourself!! I only have a few issues otherwise it would be 5 star. One is the app has to be running to unlock/lock door but you don't want the app to be running all the time because of phone battery power. If it was wifi instead of Bluetooth because of range problems so you can lock/unlock door from anywhere. I know you can pay a one time $99 to have that feature but this lock is already expensive. The other was my patio door lock that the lock hole isn't deep enough and I can't cut it deeper. It works but it shows up as jammed. This will cut the battery on the lock shorter because the lock has to try 2-3 times to fully extend. There is no setting to shorten the lock extension. Other than that it's a wonderful thing to be keyless!!

The idea behind this product is wonderful but my key fob needs to be reprogrammed about once a week because it regularly stops working. Additional key fobs are too expensive. The bluetooth feature works great on my girlfriend's iPhone but doesn't work with many other phones. I have to use a regular key to open it and regret purchasing this Kevo product. The features sounded great but it simply doesn't work.

I had the first generation and it was great. Then I changed to the second generation lock and it has been working remarkable. The ease of setup is a big issue for me. It took a screwdriver to install and was so simple, I could do it blindfolded. The kid across the hall thinks that he has magic, as he wants to touch it to let me in. Yet when I am inside, the touch on the outside of the door does not function. I feel secure, it is remarkable when I am carrying things as it just takes a touch. One of the best things about having this lock is that I don't have to take my keys, in my pockets, when I go out for dinner or drinks. Just my phone. Never failed me to date and I love my lock !!!!

I bought this lock about 6 mo ago. I love that I can use my phone to unlock the door. Also that I can send a code to people so that they can get into the house! I've had to use that feature a couple times! LOVE it! I think the only bad thing I can say about it is the fob doesn't ever work correctly. Also, when you come home you have to wait for your phone to connect to the internet before you can get in. Sometimes it's slow, not always though. But overall I love it.

I bought this some time back and it's average at best. At least half of the time I will need to unlock my phone to get the app to work and even then it doesn't always unlock on the first try. Also if I have my phone in my pocket and walk outside the door will lock without me touching it. Very frustrating if you're just going outside.

This is an OK unit. The Bluetooth isn't very responsive sometimes have to be right on top of the deadbolt for to work. It doesn't have very good range in the house to unlock it with the phone although that is a nice feature. I'm just not very impressed with the amount of money spent. The installation was very simple and straightforward as well as syncing with your phone.

I bought this lock one year ago and it worked with my iPhone pretty well for 6 months. Then Apple upgraded the IOS and it got very quirky. Technical support was always patient and very curious and understanding, but it just stopped working. They sent me a rebuilt lock and it didn't work either. They sent me a new lock, and remember I am doing the installations each time and as this was in November / December and temps were dropping. It just doesn't work with my iPhone 6 and so I use the fob. The fob works most of the time, but I often need to use the key. Not what I thought.

I love the idea. Installation was easy but functionality is erratic. Never sure when the lock won't respond to my phone despite a good wifi and Bluetooth. This sometimes results in expletives when you are carrying groceries and have to set them down to use a key. Fob no longer pairs with lock. Tried to reconnect with web instructions once, failed, and just haven't bothered to try again. Wouldn't purchase again until reliability issues resolved. I'd invest in a higher end entry set instead. I just got a new phone so we'll see if that helps!

It's been a almost year since I had 925 Kevo installed. I love it! My car has touch lock so I thought why not have a keyless entry for my house too! Now , every once in a while Kevo does not work , like I have to touch the Kevo lock several times or pull out my Key Fobs to Re activate to open the door. So far, I love it and hope it will Last !!

I asked for this as a gift and when I received it, I was excited to install it. The directions were clear and I was able to use the existing holes in my door. The setup was clear and I had the lock working quickly. But then, that's when the troubles began. I left my phone and key fob inside and as I left I must have brushed up against the lock and it locked me outside. Since my device was inside it would not unlock the door. Then the KÄ'VO software on my iPhone was upgraded. I used to have my Kevo app closed to operate my door, now it HAS to be launched on my iPhone to work. As a result, my iPhone battery life is diminished. The app for me was working fine, why was such a change made? So until these bugs get worked out, and the product is really close, I would hold off on recommending this lock at this time.

Be careful changing upgrading phones

Would have given it a four until I upgraded my phone. Besides the occasional random operation that was not initiated it worked pretty well. When I upgraded phones to the Google Pixel it is not compatible so now I have a lock that still occasionally has a mind of its own but only a real key for my use.
