Use this product all the time, easy to use and love the finished results. Used for caulking bath tubs, counter tops. trim/molding, etc..... But, the last case I got (12-5.5 oz tubes) every single tube blew out the back of the squeeze tube when I was using it. Makes a mess and just adds valuable time to the project.

I'm on my 4th attempt resealing my bathtub. I chose DAP because it has been easy to use for other projects. It worked well until 3 weeks after application, then it began to disintegrate and peel. I'm trying to sell my house and can't trust that it won't peel any longer. Now that the tube is out, I'm in need of new product suggestions.

I'm tired of exchanging this product only to be replaced with another tube that leaks at the bottom of tube when used! Makes a total mess when it drops on rug or carpet and it's not an operator error! It's a defective seal

Comments about Dap Kwik-Seal Kitchen and Bath Caulk (18001):

We just purchased this product in clear in order to caulk between our tub and floor. It came out white so we were thinking maybe it would dry clear. Nope, still white. Our nice flooring and tub siding is ruined. Will be calling the company to complain and ask for refund. So furious. Don't buy this.

Used it to adhere a plastic soap dish and shelf onto a PORCELAIN TILE shower wall. It worked GREAT, but my other half wants to change the location of the soap dish.
What solvent will loosen the adhesive sealant so I can remove it

Comments about Dap Kwik-Seal Kitchen and Bath Caulk (18001):

The product itself was good, I could have given a 4-5 star. The packaging design was a major failure, giving zero if that was an option. The end of the tube that was to deliver the beautiful even bead was designed to be removed twisting off, but wouldnt stay on the container under pressure and split in the first minute. Had to puncture the inner seal, had to use a pair of pliers to rip it off. If DAP would put a tip that was sealed to the container, and an easy puncture inner seal, I could have been able to use it. Instead I had to use rubber gloves, squeeze out the product, then in a messy swipe with my finger apply to the area. And of course it is not water clean up. Also meaning the product went half as far as should be. Thank goodness this project wasnt in a place that mattered on how it looked, what a mess. Of course I could have used mineral spirits and a lot of time to make it pretty, but was expecting a much easier project and didnt have it on hand. Wont buy this again until they redesign the tube.

I had a small area around my tub that needed re-caulking. I cleaned the area, scrapped all old caulk off and waited for area to dry before I reapply. After using, I waited 48 hours before anyone used this tub. First time caulking was fine. The next shower, the caulking shriveled up and peeled away. Ok, so I said maybe I did something wrong, so did the same thing only this time waited 4 days before using this tub. After the 2nd shower same thing. I bought this product about 6 mths. ago. Is there a shelf life. Will not use again

I followed the directions to a T - applied twice because the first time it dried and turned gray. I just reapplied and it looks like it is doing the same thing. The tube I bought says bright white? Does it not stay bright white as it dries??? sure hoping I don't have to do it a third time - with a different product!

I am so disappointed that I have to start all over from square one on two different bathrooms. I gave it extra dry time but as soon as it was exposed to water, the caulk became sticky and soft and ..began to dissolve.

bought this for my Shower, followed all the directions. This has failed on me before but I thought that I had not let it cure long enough. This time I cleaned the areas in the shower I was applying let it dry with a fan for 6 hours. Applied sealant and let cure for 28 hours with a fan. # showers later the sealant has deteriorated and is wetter now than when I put it on. This stuff does not work says Kitchen and Bath Sealant so caulking a shower should not be an issue. since it does not warn against using in a shower

This has been the standard for as long as I've been in the industry. They have kept this product consistent. The only problems that one usually has is lack of experience. If you prepare the surfaces(s) properly you will not have to replace for a long time. It's quick, easy to us and inexpensive. Yes there are easier and better products, but they are also made by Dap. For its price point its perfect. Richard Dobson, President, First Floors - Carpet One.

I needed to recaulk our kitchen sink as the caulk was over 7 years old and peeling out/off. I prepped it well, with some elbow grease. Removed all old caulk, cleaned it with alcohol and even blew dried it to make sure it was completely dry. To be sure I waited until the next day to caulk it. Bought a new tube to make sure it would work well. Followed directions on the tube. That was one full week ago. I did not use my sink for 2 whole days and I t took forever to dry, so I made sure not to get even a small drop on it. Fast forward a week later, it still hasn't completely dried which I thought it was. It started to bubble up and turn white like the day it came out of the tube! All my time and effort and money down the drain!!! Now I need to redo it from step one!!!!! I'm so frustrated with this product I'm going to try to return it to the store I bought it from. And I'm never buying this particular caulk again, neither for my kitchen or bath. It's two thumbs down for me and my friends and family will be advised not to use this.
