The first time I used this lawn tractor I set the cutting blade to it's highest setting and then lowered it and recut the lawn. We've had a very wet summer.

Although my lawn is not very big, a little over a 1/4 acre I needed a narrow riding mower that would fit through my gate for my fenced in yard. I have osteoarthritis in my hips and can no longer use the self propelled mower.

My issue is that I could not shut off the engine when I turned the key to the off position. It still ran after I got off the seat which should have automatically shut off the engine. I even took the key out of the ignition and the engine still ran.

I tried to contact the Weedeater folks using the service and technical numbers printed on the owners manual. No one could help with my problem. They have a very poor service network set up. I was told that I would have to bring the lawn tractor back to the store where I bought it to have them send it back to the manufacturer. Not having a pick up truck or van this is not possible. I had originally made arrangements for the store to deliver the lawn tractor on their own truck at my expense.

I inquired if they had a manufacturer's rep who handled these issues and they do not.

I will have to seek out other retailers who do service this machine to find out what is wrong with it and whether it needs to be returned to the manufacturer.

Quite frankly if I had known that I would not be able to service the tractor I would not have bought it. The shut off is a safety issue. I had the pull the spark plug wire off to shut down the mower. Totally unacceptable!

Comments about WEEDEATER Weed Eater 190CC Riding Mower (960220007):

I read some of the other reviews and thought they are crazy. If you are a professional landscaper this is not the mower for you. It's too small and not designed for that use. If you are a homeowner this mower is perfect especially for the price as anything comparable is twice the price. We have a little over 1/2 acre of land and this mower is great and as far as maintenance we have never had any problems; just need to change the oil as required. I highly recommend this product especially if you are working with a budget of under $1K.

We have 1/2 acre of land to cut. It has been a good choice for our needs. Only complaint that I have is that it takes a good 5-10 minutes to warm up then it runs great. If you are the impatient type and want to just jump on and start cutting you will have to be open to a few minutes of wait time for the mower to wake up. Other similar mowers are twice the cost. This will give the homeowner every thing they need for half the cost. Easy to maneuver around tress and shrubs. I recommend you get it!

Front wheels lock up when you turn. I know not expensive but built poorly. If you stop and add more gass the thing wont start have wait to cool down. Im not a big guy but the little incline in my yard it wont go up. This overall is horrible product.

I bought this mower 4 years ago, for brand name, price, and compact size. While it does a decent job on my medium lawn, it does have some issues. It sputters and stalls when engaging blade, but quickly recovers. My main complaint: Just this year the transmission went out (cost of repair $700....more than the cost of the mower itself). Okay....no biggie, I thought, as I had purchased an extended warranty. The repair company that had the Weedeater contract was in a small town 100 miles away (keep in mind that I live in a town with a pop. of over 80,000). They had to send a flat-bed trailer to pick it up....it took FOUR WEEKS to get it repaired and returned!

Worst thing I ever bought, ever. I can't believe they sell it. The first time I used it the front wheel fell off and flattened the tire. Replacement is 45.00 dollars if you can fine one since they use a 3/4 inch bearing instead of 5/8 like everybody else in the world. I finally bought a couple of flanged wheel bearings so I could buy a tubeless hard tire from the hardware store for 15 bucks so I wouldn't have to mess with their cheap pneumatic tires. Two weeks later the transmission went out. It took the "authorized service center" five weeks to repair it under my warranty. The repair guy said they use some type of cheap plastic part in there that just will never hold up. I expect I'll be back at the service center soon. I wouldn't take another one of these if it was free and included a lifetime warranty since it is not worth the hassle. The worst part is Weed Eater is owned by Husqvarna. You would think a quality company like that would never let something as bad as this come to market. For the price, I wasn't expecting a zero-turn Husqvarna, but I thought I could at least mow my lawn a few times before it broke. Pure junk. I am going to take the front off and use it as a pull behind since the mower and motor (Briggs) are decent, the day after the warranty expires.

Bought this to replace a 20 year old riding mower. Starts and runs great. Mows well on my small 1/4 acre lawn. Only problem is access to the battery if it needs charging. Handles a little different from previous riders but after 2 uses I am getting the feel for it. My Ace Store assembled it for me as it was easier for them to deliver an assembled unit than a packing crate.

Comments about WEEDEATER Weed Eater 190CC Riding Mower (960220007):

We bought this 26" Weed Eater Mower to replace my Cub Cadet 42" that I damaged the deck on when I hit a hidden stump. Since we are seniors (80) and no longer are concerned with any rough mowing we wanted to replace the Cub with a smaller mower for our city lawn. Everything was exactly as represented and the mower is O.K.
We thought this 26" Weed Eater would be just the thing for our town lawns. I ordered this mower and received it quickly and was mowing in 3 days after ordering. Everything was as the add represented. This appeared to be a sturdy well built machine. I have owned several riding mowers over the last 50 years.
Sooo This 26" Weed Eater mower was not for me. The shifter wouldn't lock in first. When moving the shifter to the first notch the mower would be in second or mowing speed. Too fast for any close mowing. I found the steering hard and severe. The clutch was difficult to push. We both have leg and shoulder problems so shifting was difficult. The ride was quite rough even on our little lawn. It was tough to steer around flower beds etc. I mowed our lawn 2 times. Since the wheels are wider than the mower I didn't overlap enough and had uncut grass streaks all over.
I had uncrated the mower and pitched the original shipping crate, I had put gas in the mower and had mowed a little so the mower could not be returned. I went into the ACE store to learn that this was a special ACE item so the store couldn't help replace it. I am selling this new mower for less than half of what we spent to get it.
I went into the local ACE store to try to find a small hydrostatic with a lever hydrostatic control. Bad legs and ankles do not like foot controls such as I had on my Cub. I bought a Husky 39" 20 HP mower that was delivered in three days. It has a lever control in the fender and all else of a rider tractor. I should have bought this in the first place had I known it was avaiable. This proved to be a costly experience to get sonething for ease of operation for bad knees. Buying the little Weed Eater was MY mistake and not a misrepresentation by the seller.

As soon as the warranty ran out the transmission went up and cost over $900.00. I've had this Tractor for less then two years and was really only able to use it about 8 times. Allot of repair places won't even take this Tractor because it's no bad. Please do not purchase this product you will be sorry as I am.

Did some shopping and I found that Elliott Ace Hardware, in Milwaukee, Wi. had the best deal for me. The rider is fantastic and so was the customer service at Ace. They really do care......I couldn't be happier with this mower and after using it 5 times, I'm getting the hang of it.

Love that it was easy to put together and that all I had to do was turn the key and start it. The one flaw is the jerky tranmission when placing it in gear and driving it,it does jerk some but smooth out after that..The feature when backing up and having to dis-engaging the blad really is a bad Idea,I wish it stayed engaged when backing up..
Over all it a good mower and I would buy it again if I had to..
I have recconmennded it all ready to other around me..

This is a great mower for medium size yards. It is NOT a tractor, but rather a riding mower. Good visability and easy to operate. Nice electruc start. Single cuttung blade makes a nice even cut. Recommend this mower highly.

Couldn't be happier. It starts immediately, is easy to steer around flower beds and trees and does a great job cutting the grass, and because of it's size (26 inch cut) it fits through a normal size fence gate.

Comments about WEEDEATER Weed Eater 190CC Riding Mower (960220007):

I got this rider because I thought it would work well on my 1/2 acr. lawn. The lawn is flat and easy to cut with a walk-behind. I was sure it would be good for my wife, and daughters to help out. So far, in the 9 months I've owned this rider, The shaft that comes down from the engine to turn the blade has come loose. The steering gromit broke in 2 weeks of use. The transmition is now causeing the chains to jump and make lots of noise. It is getting hard to find a weed eater place that will honor the warenty

Comments about WEEDEATER Weed Eater 190CC Riding Mower (960220007):

The tight turning radius is GREAT! Cut's mowing and weeding time in half. Needs to have bag for grass cuttings. Not to good on uneven surfaces can throw the rider off. Not Good for heavy people.Great for small or large lawns that are flat. Mechanics of this unit never gave me any problem as far as starting and running but the plastic steering gear on a metal shaft stripped out. It is never a good combination plastic on metal!
