Freshen Up a Console With Color
Revive an old console side table with a cheerful new color that creates a trendy two-tone look. Ace can help you make this project easy with the paint, supplies and expert advice you need.
What You'll Need:
- Clark+Kensington® interior paint
- Primer
- 2" angled paintbrush
- 9" roller frame and cover
- Paint tray and liner
- Paint stir stick
- Painter's tape
- Power sander
- 150 grit sandpaper
- Measuring tape
- Pencil
- Damp rag
First, measure down the table legs and mark the border of your new two-tone finish with a pencil. Then wrap painter's tape around each leg below the pencil marks.
Next, power up your power sander and sand down all the areas that you'll be covering with your new paint color. Wipe the dust off the surfaces with a damp rag, then apply a single coat of primer, starting at the top and working your way down to the taped areas on the legs.
Now you're ready to paint. Use the roller to apply Clark+Kensington® Paint Ocean Blues 35B-4 on the larger flat surfaces and use the brush for the legs, corners and detail work. You'll want to put on two coats for the best-looking finish, being careful to avoid any drips and runs.
Helpful Tip:
Remove the painter's tape before the paint has finished drying to create nice clean lines
Once your finish is fully dried, you'll have a super-cool new side table that adds a fun pop of color to any room. Your local Ace is always ready to help bring out your inner interior decorator so you can beautify your home!
