The old one I had in PA was not as nice as this one. However it was larger and easier to use. This one I had to throw out 10# of apples becauce I did not have the streght ot push the apples thru the seive. Having said that I am 22 years older too!!! Maybe I am not srong enough to begin with!! The product is very nice and sturdy I just cannot use it!!!

a heavy copper bottom aluminum 3 quart (?) large sauce pot fits perfectly under this food press. This press is more convenient and works better than the conventional food mill a lot of people use for making tomato sauce. I've sauced over 200 lbs of tomatoes a year for the last three years and this food press has been the perfect tool!

This is just what I needed to separate the skin and seeds from tomato pulp. It is rather narrow so it is hard to fit a bowl underneath it to catch the juices and pulp. I think the handle is too long also. I like the wooden pestle tho, it looks elegant. :) It works fine and is a good product for the price. I'll use it every year to make tomato juice, tomato soup and ketchup.
