Comments about Black Jack® Drive-Max 700 7-Year Gel Driveway Filler and Sealer (6453-9-30):
Purchased and used 40 buckets for the stuff. First trip to store in one town got 20 and it went down pretty good. Still needed stiring, even if you are in GA in the middle of August. Got another 20 buckets at the same brand store in another town the next day and this stuff was so thick my drill could barely mix it! The material was almost solid. Very hard to pour and to spread out. I don't know what it would have been like if it had not been so hot.

Comments about Black Jack® Drive-Max 700 7-Year Gel Driveway Filler and Sealer (6453-9-30):
Have sealed over 25 driveways in the past and even used this brand about 3 years ago on my own driveway.Do not believe the container,it is only 4 1/2 gallons instead of the 5 it once was(economy?).I applied with ideal weather conditions 80-85 degrees, low humidity not a cloud in the sky. It says 24-48 hours dry time,I waited 72 and it was still tacky. My Camry and truck when moved pulled the tread prints right up after being parked for 12 hours after the 72 hrs.dry time.Last time I didn't park on it for about 5 days because of higher humidity and this time it should have been ideal drying conditions.Just got done repairing the bald spots from 8 tires and hope they dry before rain tomorrow, back parking in the yard again.WILL NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN,WHAT A WASTE OF OVER $125!

Comments about Black Jack® Drive-Max 700 7-Year Gel Driveway Filler and Sealer (6453-9-30):
Tip the pail upside down. Prior to use with the pail right side up' position handle straight up, then put pail on its side and roll it around a few times to mix. Since it's water soluble it spreads easier if you sprits the driveway lightly with the hose. This will give it a longer dry time but it goes farther and spreads easier. The ACE store in Pagosa Springs does not stock this item in enough quantity to do my driveway when I tried to order more I was told they don't order that much at one time. I had to go to another ACE in Durango 50 miles away to buy more. Very inconvinent but a good product. Make sure your store will order more if you need it.

Comments about Black Jack® Drive-Max 700 7-Year Gel Driveway Filler and Sealer (6453-9-30):
The prior positive review with directions was helpful. As instructed, I let the bucket of sealer sit upside down in the sun at 80 deg temperature for a few hours before opening. After being warmed up that way it was easier to stir than I expected. I used a mop handle screwed into a paint roller and bought the cheapest paint roller at the hardware store and that worked great.
Dirt and pocked surfaces are a challenge. I had no water where I was working so just brushed the area with a broom. Dirt in cracks sort of gums things up and prevents actual contact with the underlying pavement surface. Pocked, crack surfaces use up the product much faster than smooth surfaces. I put mine on part of a parking lot where improperly parked cars had prevented a professional resurfacing / repainting crew from coating two places (the footprint of the vehicles). One large bucket was just enough to cover. The result a day later is great (with warm dry breeze); it matches well.
Water cleanup actually worked.

Comments about Black Jack® Drive-Max 700 7-Year Gel Driveway Filler and Sealer (6453-9-30):
This is a great product if you follow the instructions. Just be sure to stir it thoroughly and apply it sparingly on a sunny day when there is no rain in the forecast for at least 36 hours. Store the containers upside down for 24 hours prior to applying, then stir each bucket thoroughly with an electric drill and a paint stirrer. Also, batch about 1/3 of each bucket into a pail with an equal amount from another bucket and stir thoroughly to minimize the chance of color creep. Properly homogenized, this acrylic sealer will be the consistency of hot molasses. It is a good idea to make a a ladel out of an old canned-tomato tin by cutting a couple of small slits in the top of the tin, bend them back and screw the flaps to a piece of wood about the size of a hockey stick shaft to use as a handle. This will help in applying the material and minimize the chance of excess amounts collecting on your driveway. Also, given that this is a relatively thick liquid, be sure to have a paint brush or spatula available to get all of the residue out of the bottom of the container. Properly homogenized prior to use, the dregs of this gel sealer will not pour out of the container by turning it upside down. You will have to scrape it out in order to get maximum coverage (and of course your money's worth). An added advantace with this product is that, with no coal tar in the formula, there is no smell to leave you nausiated. The acrylic formula lets you clean up your tools (not to mention your hands and potentially footwear) with dish soap and warm water. I have had very good results with this product and highly recommend it.
