Electric string trimmers, also known as electric weed trimmers, have several price, environmental, and maintenance benefits when compared to
gas trimmers. Since electric trimmers don't use gas, you don't incur the additional operational expense nor expel the same amount of air pollution when using them.
There are two types of electric grass trimmers, corded and cordless string trimmers. Corded trimmers are generally the less expensive of the two. While they don’t require much maintenance, their range is slightly restricted depending on the length of the power cord. Cordless weed trimmers offer unlimited range. They are light weight compared to gas models; however, they are typically still heavier than electric corded trimmers. Cordless trimmers are best for smaller jobs, as the charge may only last for 15 to 20 minutes depending on the trimmer.
