Comments about DEVOCON Devcon Plastic Welder (22045):

Have used this many times on plastic armor for Star Wars costumes. Movie accurate type, not halloween. We have used countless glues and epoxys over the years.. if you need plastic stuck to plastic, use this. no question the best.. make sure both surfaces are clean, paint free, and scratched a bit (like you should do for any glues).

Yes, it's smelly, get over it because the pros outweigh the cons.

This is EXCEPTIONALLY good for 3d printed items as well. I just used it on some PLA printed items and it's great, plus it's a gap filler if you need it. Typically on the PLA prints I used a type of solvent that fuses the plastics together. Great stuff and works if you have no gaps.. however.. if you have gaps.. well.. not so great.. This devcon plastic welder.. CREAM.. works amazing.

Variants: There is more than one devcon plastic welder out there.. We have tried them all .. weird as it is.. THIS is the one that works the best.. the plastic welder in cream.. weird, but it works. If it says Gel or anything weird.. NOPE.. just this normal plastic welder in cream is the one to use. trust us.

The cap.. yup it sucks. But the comment to return it as defective because the cap doesn't stay and makes it single use is the stupidest thing I have read this year. No, it's not single use. A simple piece of dang tape over the lid holds in on just fine and I've gone months between uses with the single tube of it with zero problems lol. Wow.. some people will complain about anything.

Perfect when you need a flexible gap filling plastic bond.

Comments about DEVOCON Devcon Plastic Welder (22045):

This adhesive is an excellent choice when you need a somewhat flexible gap filling bond especially to plastic. Unlike plio bond it will nicely fill gaps and is much stronger. Unlike epoxy it is not so brittle that it breaks away from flexible plastics. The product partly cures to a sticky consistency in 15-60 minutes and fully cures to the consistency of hard rubber in 24-48 hrs. The 15 minute claim is a bit misleading. It is not a good general purpose adhesive but when you need what it does, very few things work. An alternative is west system Gflex, The wet product can be removed (e.g from tools) with acetone.

Really does glue plastics, but you can't store the extra.

Comments about DEVOCON Devcon Plastic Welder (22045):

Although it's a two-part glue, it does appear to melt plastics together rather than just adhering to the surface of the plastic. Because of this interaction, the glue on your job will take longer to harden than the left-overs from your initial mix. You won't easily forget the smell of this stuff : it is *really* stinky.

Unfortunately both Ace and Devon plunger glues have switched to a plunger design where, despite what it says on the back of the package, the storage cap is not designed to stay on, no matter how hard you try and pound it on. So currently you are buying a single-use glue.

So use the glue you need, then return the glue for a refund. My Ace guy was as puzzled as I was by this new design, and was happy to label my glue as "defective" and return my money.
