This is a great oil lamp that produces reasonable amount of light. I bought this lamp because of some extended power outages. This lamp produces more light than a candle and burns for many, many hours with one oil fill. We use several in our great room during power failures and they make it cozy and reasonably well lit enough to get around and to read if you're sitting really close to the lamp. I was impressed with the quality for the price and in fact it looks like an antique. The font has quite a bit of character and it looks even better when filled with clear lamp oil.
