Comments about VILLAGE BLACKSMITH Corona® Tree Pruner (TP6870):
I'm an "OLDER" lady with a big yard and lots of trees. Borrowed this one from a friend, and it's great. I had been standing on my tippy toes with a small trimmer and never get the upper branches (+ 8-15 ft) that were hanging over my neighbors fence. Now I can stand on my balcony to get the very tops, and improve my view of the valley below and the neighbors' as well.
Pros
Cons
- Difficult To Use
- Extending handle slips
- Flimsy
- Hard To Cut Branches
- Heavy
Best Uses
- Cuts pencil-size branches
Comments about VILLAGE BLACKSMITH Corona® Tree Pruner (TP6870):
This is a terrible product. The upper handle is supposed to extend, and be secured in that position by a turn of the collar on the lower part of the handle. This will not stay secured. Therefore, it shortens again instantly. Also, you can't wiggle the saw or clipper side to side, or get it out when it's stuck, because the handle slips so you have no leverage.
The clipper only cuts branches to 1/4 inch. The saw bends and is flimsy.
We've put our backs out more than once trying to use this. For the money, you'd think they'd use a better design. Don't buy.

Comments about VILLAGE BLACKSMITH Corona® Tree Pruner (TP6870):
I was a little concerned after reading a few negative reviews but decided to try it anyway. I am so glad I did. I found it a dream to use. It did a bang up job trimming my trees and I never used a pruner before in my life.
Everything worked as advertised and I was pleasently surprised with the ease in which it cut thru the branches. I would highly recommend this product to a friend.
Pros
- Long Reach
- Sharp Blade
Cons
- Difficult To Use
- Hard To Cut Branches
- Heavy
Best Uses
- Larger Branches
Comments about VILLAGE BLACKSMITH Corona® Tree Pruner (TP6870):
I use this product to trim damaged branches, branches that interfere with the tractor while cutting grass, & branches that encroach the parameter of the house. The big advantage is also the big disadvantage which is the heavy weight. The weight is beneficial while cutting limbs because the weight rests on the limb while sawing limbs with the very sharp saw. No downward pressure is required. However, clipping branches when the pole is extended is very difficult and tiresome. When the pole is extended, it is very difficult to balance & get the required leverage to pull the cord. I recommend that clipping high branches with the extended pole is best performed by two men - one holding the pole while the 2nd man stands behind & pulls the cord.
