The pump would not draw any fluid when higher than the fluid surface. Tested it with a five gallon bucket of water and it would only pump the water if I dropper the pump itself below the level of the water in the bucket. Useless.

Worthless. [...]They said even though it said it did not require priming....it does. They said it's good for moving fluid from one bucket to another on level ground. (Geeze....I could just pour the liquid....) They said it's not good at pumping fluids upward.Well, what good is it? Do not buy this ridiculous pump.

I use this pump driven by a 1/100hp 3.5" 1500 rpm 115V HVAC motor to pump water from my spa to an on-demand camping style propane water heater on the cheap. It only needs 2.5 GPM flow at 48" head. The coupling is a 3" long piece of 5/16" automotive fuel line and two hose clamps. It silently supplies the water heater with sufficient flow hour after hour, day after day if I want it to. It does what I want it to do, so I'm happy with it.

Luckily, it is rare to come across a product that like this that doesn't even begin to work as advertised. I followed the instructions exactly, and tried to prime and help the pump work, but it does nothing. Buy this, and you will wish you didn't.

I second that! This little gem may have just saved the foundation of our house. We used it this morning to pump out a mildly flooded back yard, and even if it never works again, it has already paid for itself. It did a great job and didn't choke on the leaves and muck that got sucked in. I'm going to buy a second as a spare.
Use a SHORT length of reinforced intake hose (standard garden hose, but not the flimsy type that will collapse), and don't hold the pump much higher than the fluid to be moved, because it pushes better than it pulls.

This thing is inexpensive, easy to use, and compact. If it was twice the price, I'd buy, use it, and still think it's a great value. I've used it to transfer biodiesel, gasoline, use motor oil, and water. This thing ROCKS!
