I went to use this product on my windows. I followed the instructions and got a crisp clean look and nicely sealed window. However when I went to use the blow dryer I held it at the 1/4" distance I read and I managed to burn a small hole. I wasn't lingering either, I used constantly motion! I used duct tape to seal that one hole, all others went up smoothly. I definitely got my money's worth.

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Indoor Window Insulation Kit:
This is total junk. The double-sided tape won't stick to anything and it is literally impossible to peel the covering off the other side of the tape. Pure aggravation.. Don't waste your time or money. I won't be shopping at Ace any more.

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Indoor Window Insulation Kit:
The adhesive strips are narrow and weightless and somewhat of a challenge to apply in a straight line without self-sticking or being weighed down by such a wide plastic sheet, but with a little time and patience, I managed to install this without any additional hands or help from any other materials besides the hairdrier to close the seal.
Ultimately, you'll want to cut the sheet down in dimensions considerably to match normal sized windows. This is almost always a waste of square inches. I had over a foot extra on BOTH side, despite considerably wide windows. Therefore, when they call this a 6 pack, you really should expect to do at least 4 windows with it, and if your windows aren't too high, you're lucky and may get one or two more to fit. But if you do have wide windows, this problem I had could actually be to your advantage.
I am mostly impressed at how these insulation sheets have held up throughout the entire fall and winter season, particularly in the bathroom where moisture and condensation could have been a higher risk. I have not had to repair nor replace a single one yet in over six months.

We purchased this product for drafty windows here in West Virginia, it works great. Tip... clean the surface to which you are applying the tape with rubbing alcohol, etc. The completed progect looks great, but more importantly, works great!

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Indoor Window Insulation Kit:
I used the name brand last winter and this year saved with the Ace product. I found it of equal quality. There is plenty of material and it is easy to use. I have window shades, and so I need to put the tape around the inside of the window casing. Fitting the plastic then took a little work (and one widow for the experience). But the plastic smoothed out just fine and the tape stuck as claimed; I have stained wood windows, and even that did not cause a problem.
Only slight negative is that I found the tape a little harder to pull the backing off than the other product, but if you have finger nails, you will learn how to do it (stick the end of the tape down, then repeatedly scrape one corner carefully until the backing begins to pull up).
I commend Ace for stepping up and competing on price with a quality product that I plan to use next time.

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Indoor Window Insulation Kit:
I really really wanted this to work. And it didn't.
First, the tape does not stay on; I had to retape it quite a few times which meant that removing the wrinkles were useless. It did not help my drafty windows at all.
The worst part? When I went to remove the plastic when the weather got warmer, it destroyed the paint on my sills. I now have a whole other project to worry about resanding and painting my sills.

This stuff is amazing! Get extra tape, then be on your way. It's a great, cheap alternative to replacing your windows. After you use your hairdryer to tighten the plastic, you can't even tell it's on your windows.

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Indoor Window Insulation Kit:
We have windows made up of slats of glass...kind of like miniblinds, but wider slats. They're great about 9 months of the year here in southern CA, but in winter? Egads! The air comes in between the slats like crazy. This is the only stuff that saves us.
