I bought this to catch the raccoon that leaves droppings on my front doorstep and in my back yard. So far I haven't caught it yet, but have caught numerous neighborhood cats (and even a bluejay to my kids' delight). All animals were released unharmed (the cats might have been a bit hungry but I don't want them to return!). Will be playing around with the bait to see if I can catch the 'coon. So far used canned cat food, cooked bacon, skin from cooked salmon. Will keep trying.

I almost ordered this online but thought I would go see if Smith County Lumber in Lindale TX had one. Thankfully they did.
I need to thin out the raccoon population and try to save my garden. If I need a smaller trap for rabbits I will get one. Feral cats can be a problem also.

Conflicking information on the bait to use. The instructions said one thing, the Havaheart web site suggested other bait and a pro that I contacted sugested another bait. Used a Bananna and it worked. Bye Bye groundhog. Hope those folks who are enthusiants of the movie Groundhog Day won't be offended. I did not trap that groundhog.
