Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Thread Cutting Oil:
As a professional Gunsmith, I rely upon a quality cutting oil for a good, smooth thread cut. Unfortunately, this stuff isn't it. While it's a dismal failure as a cutting oil, it does seem to be good at stifling squeaks on door hinges. Too bad that's all it's good for.

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Thread Cutting Oil:
This is not a thread cutting oil. More of a sewing machine oil. Cooks off part when machining, doesn't help tool cut. Not like the old sulphorised dark cutting oil I expected. Ace should have saved money on the lableing and just called it "Bit Burner". I've been running drill presses, lathes and cutting threads for nearly 50 years, and this is one of the poorest "cutting" oils I have seen.

Comments about ACE HARDWARE Ace® Thread Cutting Oil:
I bought this to thread pipe and tap threads, that's what it was made for. Some idiot changed the oil makeup. Use to be a dark almost chocolate color, with lots of sulfer. I have used these bottles of oil for 20 years. The new oil has no ability to stay on the part or take the friction out of cutting threads. This tears the thread and galls the metal. I have been a machinist and plumber for 40 years. I have cut thousands of threads. This new oil is no better than putting water on the part. I am sorry Ace went to an inferior product. Won't buy again.
