I've had MANY irons over the years, and I was thrilled to find this one at a store near my summer home. After using it for 3 months and then moving back to " reality", I can't stand being without this iron. It is heavy, but that is something I think is a bonus in an iron. It's NOT a cheap plastic unit that needs a lot of pressure to get a wrinkle out. It had, unfortunately, hit the floor a few times as my kids were zipping around without any problems visibly or, internally. It looks like the same iron my mom used and I feel like it's "olden days" quality.

I bought this hoping for a good, solid iron with enough heft to actually get wrinkles out of clothing. It does have the heft I was after, but is completely disappointing otherwise. The steam output is so wimpy as to be almost nonexistent. The instructions say that if the steam doesn't start, one should gently bump the iron. At which point, there's a brief "sigh" from the iron. Then, no steam.
