I am on my second Water Boss softener, the first one in another house. The current one being a replacement for another brand which was totally worthless. Both performed as expected and I am very happy with them. Have not had any problem with either one.

Although pictures on the box show hoses, the supplier had gone bankrupt. I was replacing my Water Boss and had 3/4" hoses but needed to get to 1" for the Model 900. Galvanized steel galled the plastic nozzles which Water Boss replaced with a new bypass unit. Then, the downstream plastic part leaked and was replaced. I found the leak was a tiny o-ring pinched at the factory. Then my old rubber hose ruptured. A hose specialist told me they used tubing that didn't match any standard hose sizes. He could cut out the rupture and reconnect with a brass union crimped in. In effect, I supplied my own hoses.
We are a family of two but went to the 900 Model this time. Water Boss regenerates on demand. I reasoned that the larger resin capacity would increase the time between regens. and last longer than our first Water Boss. In our rural town, there was no one who could repair water softeners, but now I've become my own Softener repairman.

The quality of water in my neighborhood got so bad that many people blamed their dishwashers and replaced them. on the recommendation of my brother, I boght the Water Boss instead. Without running dishes and glasses through a vinegar soak, I can already see a vast decrease of sediment. Also notice that where I couldn't get suds in the washer, I am now using much less detergent with much better results.

Had this softener for 5 years and wow - never any issues. Just add salt and it does the rest. Our water quality is great. I just bought another one for my Mom :-) I had it installed by a professional plumber and I recommend that if you are not sure of what you're doing.

Having gone thru 3 different WS in the past 10 years from different box stores the Waterboss 900 has been a delight! Our water is so clear we no longer have to use additives to keep the whites white (you guys with rusty water know what I'm taking about!). My blonde highlights stay that way instead of turning red. Dishes sparkle! No rusty toilets. Best of all it uses alot less salt. It's also easier to add since the unit is lower to the ground. I recommend this unit. Heck even if it last only 3 years such as other reviewers stated, it would be worth it. My neighbor spent 5k for his & now he's mad since our wells are similar & his water quality is the same as ours only more salt & more expensive.

Had the 900 installed 3 years ago. The brine tank is overflowing. Contacted Water Boss for someone to fix it. They would not send anyone and instructed me how to fix it myself. Each time I do what they say and it is still not fixed. Each time I apprise them it is not fixed they give me another step. Finally I was referred to someone to come and fix it. He said he can't touch it because I accidently used one of my own screws once when reassembling. This is why I wanted someone to come out in the first place. 1. For only being 3 years old, unacceptable product performance. 2. You better be an expert at fixing things if you contact Water Boss product support

Three months out of warranty and this unit had failures of turbine wheel, electric motor, transformer, printed circuit board( $190.00), drive piston and ribbon conductor.

Although the design fits well in small spaces, the unit is promoted as a high capacity system for large families. It is designed for well water systems and not city water (although it is sold at every handyman store located in city water systems). I chose the system based on their position as a system for "Large Families". I purchased the Model 900 on this basis with hope for a long lasting product. My system failed in less than two years. City systems apprently can place more than 1ppm of chlorine in their water and it is bad for the resin bed. I checked my city water testing over the past two years and it never reached over 1ppm. When asking Water Boss to replace it because it failed while operating it within specifications, they refused to. I would recommend purchasing this product with caution.

Have had this water softner for 10 years with no problems, use it for whole house. We have a lot of Iron in our water and it is great for taking care of that and the water is so soft. Couldn't ask for a better one. Would buy it again in a Min.

We've had this product for six years and it has been exceptional. And most importantly, if a part fails, it
can be replaced. Very easily! Manual comes with very
clear schematics and troubleshooting guide. We were not
unhappy with the softener that we had for 25
years, but they were too expensive and the other ones that we looked at were too flimsy. We have very
hard city water.
