Excellent stuff when used properly

About Me Professional

Pros

  • The best for posts
  • Very fast cure

Cons

  • Offers Little Protection
  • Poor color match

Best Uses

  • Post and stud anchoring

Comments about ROCKTITE Rockite® Cement:

Great stuff. I have used this to anchor pipe rail posts for many years. Nothing holds like this stuff with its expansion properties. It's also super quick cure - almost too quick on hot days. That allows installation in high traffic areas without concern for it being disturbed before it sets up (kids will be kids). THE drawback is that it just doesn't hold up in exterior use, especially in winter if you use snow melt. It's not like they are hiding anything though. It says right on the tub - not for exterior use. My work-around is to pour within an inch of grade and then cap it with something like 20 minute set Recrete. Recrete also matches the poured slab color better too.

About Me Avid Do-It-Yourselfer

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Great for lead achors
  • Setsup quick

Cons

  • Mounting hole very wet

Best Uses

  • Detailed Work
  • Fill cracks
  • Mount anchors
  • Small Areas

Comments about ROCKTITE Rockite® Cement:

Have used Rockite for many years to mount lead anchors into brick walls and fill cracks in walks and driveways. Everything thhat the manufacturer says is true. One precaution: when you are about to apply Rockite, saturate the cement around the hole or crack with lots of water. Otherwise, the cement will pull water out of the Rockite and you get a weak or useless bond. It also stores very well if the container is sealed. Use above freezing temperatures.
